Cut them slack? Why should I? I’m a valued customer that was ready to fly to Colorado for this and they can’t even prepare correctly?
And you're acting like a spoiled entitled brat. What happened? They block your bots or something?

According to Kristi on Facebook, their servers are working overtime to block bots and they are being overwhelmed. Relax dear valued customer, I am sure you'll get something.

Wow, everybody is so worked up. 3 day sale. Lots of good stuff to come. Get a coffee, do some yoga, relax and then try again. No point rage buying.

Yep, this right here. Posted that I thought bots would be a big issue in a thread on the bf sub a couple of weeks ago. There was a lot of skepticism, but I’m glad Spyderco anticipated the problem, even if they’re still somewhat overwhelmed.

Had the s45vn on my cart, couldn't check out for 20 mins, then when I was able to get to payment, poof! out of stock. LOL.

Hate it when you're competing with those FB collector groups and scalper bots...

Persistence pays off! After endless reloads and continue submissions, I was able to complete my purchase. Hopefullynothing has gone wrong in the meantime - like multiple charges due to re-submissions.

Finally got to the main page. I assume you go to Specials/Closeouts. All I'm getting is connection timeouts. I try every couple minutes for 40 minutes now.

If someone has the time, can you explain to me what Kristi means about being swarmed by bots? How does that work? Do people write software to make automatic purchases of anything/everything that appears, or...? Is a bot sophisticated enough to understand: "if knife X appears for price Y, buy it automatically"? That would seem to take a tremendous amount of programming, no?

Thanks to Spyderco for attempting this huge undertaking. I will be patient and hope to get through sometime in the next day or two. From the looks of it, the Spyderco IT team deserves hazard pay today!

Was a pain in the hind end to get past the website error walls, but after a bit of dedicated refreshing, I managed to buy some stuff with an order confirmation.

Thanks for the hard work setting this up and overall a very happy customer!

Depends on the level of programming that goes into the program.

But, yes. It is a program that(attempts to) automatically buys a product(or multiple) as soon as it is available.
