Astute. The little big knife.
Hi!
I'm pretty amazed by the Astute... what a home run. Design, carry ability, fit and finish, action, detent tuning, slicyness, general feel in hand... all nigh perfect. Makes me seriously question all my "high end" knives.
Can we please, please have this in a better steel?

This one is on my shortlist, been wanting to get it.

The Tenacious was my gateway drug for the same reasons. It’s no guarantee, but I reckon if the S35VN Tenacious is well-received the door may be opened for other “budget” models to receive the same treatment.

Re: Astute. The little big knife.
I found it to be very well made, but it felt like a knife made for a small hand. I wear XL gloves so it didn't translate well. I have it in the box and will probably end up gifting it.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

This is a post of mine in a thread on the S35VN Tenacious, and Sal's response to my post.

Interesting, thanks... so there is hope. I still prefered the G10 over the FRN LW scales, those never grew on me

Thanks Sal... been here before, glad to be back. I'm gonna try not to forget my password this time.
Congratulations on the Astute, it's a gem. Love it.

I'm a fan. The Astute packs quite a big blade into a small package. I hope it gets popular enough to justify a steel upgrade.
Re: Astute. The little big knife.
I’m a broken record. If we are talking upgrading little big knives to S35VN why aren’t we talking about the Dragonfly?

Just a guess, buy there have been a number of super steel sprints of the Dfly. I also think VG-10 as a base steel is already a fair upgrade over 8cr13mov.
Sign me up for an upgraded Astute, it's my design of the year :D

Re: Astute. The little big knife.
So... how's the Astute doing? Any news or plans with regard to upgrading the blade steel?
Still absolutely love mine.
