Limey wants a knife he can't get in the uk.

Post by Superfool »

Hi guys.

I was hoping to get my hands in a couple of American UKPKs that don't find their way across the pond.

https://www.countryknives.com/shop-by-d ... pyderedge/

And

https://www.countryknives.com/shop-by-d ... plainedge/

If I sent funds, would anyone be willing to help me out?
Both are uk legal, so no laws would be broken sending them over. Would just be some hassle.

Many thanks, David.

Why not buy from a US vendor that ships to you?
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Those particular versions were probably were available in the UK 10 years ago when the were in production, but most likely sold out years ago. Country Knives is one of a very few US dealers with an internet presence who charge full MSRP for all their knives, so they often have interesting discontinued pieces long after all the discounters have sold out. They do ship internationally, so that's always an option.

My first UKPK was/is a SE gin1 drop-point, and it remains one of my most used Spydies. They did stick around in U.K. retailers for quite a while after the steel & spring were superseded.

Is the metal and spring design not so good then?

Both were upgraded since introduction.

I quite like the softer spring in the older version as I can both open and easily close with my thumb, but I suspect most people prefer the later, stiffer action. I haven’t anything in BD1N but it is widely considered an upgrade over it’s predecessors.
