I'm honestly not a big fan of DLC in general, but I can see where DLC 52100 would be very practical. The KW grey variant is quite stunning - has a subtle dressy look to it but would fit in anywhere. And I bet it would be a strong seller as a Native. Let's make it happen

I have the Maxamet, 4V and Rex45 Native 5 variants, so I don't really need to add any more.

I voted Superblue, but ATM I am really just shopping/waiting for the CF/S90V and the G10/Maxamet versions. Then I will have six of them, not sure I will want more.

I’d be in on any option, but 52100 would be my choice.

I like simple high carbon steels like Super Blue, but I'm not a big Native fan.

I like 52100. But would really like to see the Chief in 52100. Carbon fiber is fine with me, it will match my other blades in that steel.

I would buy that :spyder: !

I like carbon steels and would really like something in
Super Blue, but 52100, or V-Toku2 is fine as well. If we could get something like this it would be nice if enough were made so that once they dropped it wouldn’t be out of stock in less than an hour everywhere.

More Super Blue please. I was too late to the party to get my hands on any.

I have no interest in Low-Alloy steels. I think they are far inferior to high alloy non-stainless in all respects except for forging.
To be honest, I'd much rather Spyderco do something in AEB-L or Nitro-V if you want something that will take a fine edge with good toughness.

My home is always open for another Native...52100 and peel ply CF would be nice.

Finally I don't like stainless steels, I've just sold my sage 5 in S30V, I got a Para 3 LW REX 45 and a Para 2 M4. I'm checking every day for P4 or par3 or 2 in K390, or a ENDELA in K390. But it will remain place in my home for a spyderco in 52100 ...

I want a high carbon anything. My 52100 PM2 has supplanted my Hap40 Caly3 as my EDC. I'd love any of those steels, but since the Native is a Golden knife it deserves 52100.

This mirrors my thoughts. I'll add that 14c28n would work in this application as well. Tough, stainless, fine grain and easy to sharpen.

I already have a Native in a high carbon steel. It has 2,3% carbon and is called S90V :p
I have a GB2 in M4 and nothing about that steel makes me happier than I am with S90V.

If you really want a high performing non stainless 52100 is a good performer and a very well known knife steel with not too many surprises. I'd probably buy one even though in a Native I'd prefer 4V or similar. Without the coatings and Red color especially. I'll go with the flow on this one though.

Pretty much the only reason I haven’t grabbed a St. Nicks G10 Native. I just don’t like coatings.

I’m all in for AEB-L and 14c28n. Two of my favorite steels.

Works for me - the more the merrier! I don't have any experience with AEB-L or 14c28n but if they are as easy to get hair-poppin' sharp as 52100, tough, and stainless to boot, then bring it on! I'm not sure how well the AEB-L Urban sold, though - that might have been a market indicator for Spyderco? Though might be hard to gauge the market for a small slipjoint vs. the hugely popular Native series.
