After weeks of careful consideration, we have made the decision to take the 2020 Factory Seconds Sale entirely online. The health and safety of our guests, staff, and local community remains our top priority, and we feel this decision aligns with that priority based on the evolving COVID-19 situation in our state. These developments would likely have required a cancellation in the days leading up to the in-person event, and we want to focus our efforts on making the online event an outstanding experience for everyone.

While we are disappointed we won’t be able to gather together in Golden this year, we are incredibly appreciative of the support and enthusiasm for this event. As we continue to move forward with the first-ever Online Seconds Sale, please follow our social media channels or our forum for the latest updates and announcements.

That's a bummer to hear but understandable with everything going on.

Soooo, if we're locally based are we able to go in & pick up what we buy on line? I'll miss seeing ya this year!

OTOH; if shipping is Global how about doing a 24hr On Line sale to give folks a chance in other parts of the world to participate when they're actually awake?!?! :D

One of the downsides of this is, I can already see some of the guys from the collector FB groups appearing to get a wind of this...looks like there's going to be a horde coming in leading up to this. Tsk.

I'm so curious to hear how this is all going to work. I do hope there is a somewhat strict purchase limit set for this. If people are going to be allowed to buy 25 knives each then I could see this becoming a flippers dream come true. (Also a packaging/shipping nightmare!)

I hope the Spyderco website doesn't crash on that day, given how crazy some drops for dealer exclusives and sprints have been.

Living overseas, it would be interesting to participate in such an event. I appreciate the efforts of the Spyderco crew in putting all of this together.

I'm pretty sure that if people abuse this, it will be the last time it happens. I really hope everyone has a conscience, and they let it be their guide. The good people at Spyderco deserve as much.

I've always wanted to go so I really hope this works out! I can't imagine how they can organize it so it's fair for all, but then again I've only been thinking about it for 5 minutes and they've had weeks. Fingers crossed!

Same here! Sooooo many people will want in on this. I have no idea how many knives are typically at this sale on a yearly basis, but being online and to be to fair to everybody, there must be some kind of limit.

I'm sure it's going to be tough, but I really don't want to see/read about it getting ugly. This is new to everyone, including Spyderco! It's just that kind of year.

Count me in!

I definitely agree with the purchase limit Mushroom...would be hard for us to compete with those collectors who can easily drop 300 or more just for an exclusive PM2. What bothers me is that these people might be also the first ones to whine and gripe about the quality they're getting.

I'm pretty sure the staff at Golden will have some sort of plan with regards to how will these all pan out. Who knows, it could be done through mystery boxes like what
Southern Edge Knifeworks had done recently.

There's no way I'd ever fly to Golden to buy knives, but I'm a veteran at sitting at my desk and impulsively buying shiny baubles.
