I must be a weirdo because of the knives offered, the only one I was interested in was the Parata! I was keeping my powder dry for a Native Chief or a Sage, but apparently those are made perfectly, and there are no seconds!

Well, I never got on in time to see something I wanted, and that’s OK. Sounds like many of you got some great deals, I hope you’re thrilled with them!

How long before many of the seconds show up on ePay? I do wish there was a way to reach through the web and literally end the device using bots.

While I eventually found a weird masochistic enjoyment in the experience, I really don't know how I feel about how this went. I'm not sure whether they just decided to pull the plug early or legitimately miscalculated the inventory, but between the technical difficulties and the sudden unanticipated conclusion I don't think call this a terrific success, at least in terms of fan enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I totally appreciate the effort, but I wouldn't be for doing this again.

Between having a job and kids, I had zero chance at anything remotely interesting. That Parata doesn’t count.

Oh good Lord, now I CAN SLEEP PROPERLY tomorrow. With the sale starting at 1 AM in the morning here, it's been 2 nights of barely any sleep at all. Lucky you that you only have to deal with the technical difficulties, I had to deal with all of that - on top of fatigue due to lack of sleep just to get on this sale.

A buddy of mine wanted to try a Parata, and so did I. He was a bit short today, so I just ordered 2 - saved the shipping and we both get to try these for about half of street price. Can't complain about that!

Wouldn't your buddy be the same height every day?

I bought a nightstick. I thought it was a nice design and I've really been appreciating Gayle Bradley's designs lately - less than half of street was good and I missed the shaman and spydiechef, so I decided to grab another Z cut and it. I think I bought 3 Z cuts, the paratas, the respect (that thing looks like a beast!), a couple of the value lines (already have had tenacious line knives, have been curious about the efficient/etc line), both a yojimbo and Ronin (I like Wharnies but now that I got a couple cheap, I can use them hard without feeling like I'm just pouring money down the drain), standard Para2 and Military (my current models are carbon steel, now I have a couple in S30V coming), a waterway (will be my first LC200N!) and one or two other things. Super happy and appreciative of having a chance even if I struck out on some "special" knives. I might just not buy any more knives for a little while, especially if I don't see any more crazy deals, haha.

It was fun finally to participate in the madness! Hopefully Spyderco learned a little from this and next year will be even better! I was bummed not to get a Shaman or SpydieChef. As a user, not a collector it's hard to justify multiple expensive knives with a family to feed. If someone gets a Shaman and changes their mind...

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, it shows who is currently on the forum. There are usually a couple bots browsing at any given time. Maybe they like us.
