Woohoo! Got me some K390 in the form of an Endura. I was trying to find something else to add to get the free shipping, but I didn't want to lose it before I checked out.

At last, congrats! You got the k390 you wanted. :D
Thank you! I'm growing quite fond of the Endura platform after using the Pac Salt 2 for a bit. So now I've got one that will rust, and one that won't!

Man, that K390 Endura is soooooo tempting, but there is nothing else I want at the same time, and I hate to pay $13 on one knife, just to buy more later. I can’t believe it, but I think I’m passing on it.

Weird, does anybody else see the Rex45 Lil Native as "in stock" on the main screen, but when you click on it to add to cart, it says "out of stock"?

That's happened with a couple models. I think it just takes a moment to update the main screen.

It would be nice if they deleted the sold out items from the page.

Earlier, the pm2's lingered long enough for me to get 2. They're gonna make great Christmas gifts for a couple family members.

Good point, that certainly did linger. Only purchase I've made so far actually. Tried to hurry up as the frenzy began, but was surprised to see it after many others sold out. Figured anything PM2 and Para 3 would be instant sellouts in this sale.

Or maybe they had more PM2/3 Maxamets in stock compared to others...

I'm guessing it means they had a lot of them. Maybe the Maxamet models are harder to make and prone to lots of small defects.

They appear to be adding inventory every couple of hours. I'm guessing that's mostly going to be a business hours kind of thing.

Thanks, Spydercrew! I honestly expected everything to be flattened out and only flippers with specialized setups to get anything good. The rarer stuff can be harder to get, but I've gotten a dozen items for probably 1/3 of their usual price (and I use everything, so cosmetic imperfections don't bother me one bit). I never lost an item from my cart (item selling out before I could purchase is different and didn't happent that much), I never had to start over, haven't had double charges or similar, and the behavior of the servers was consistent, meaning anyone to stuck around probably got something cool. I'm guessing you did some load testing or fortification before you opened it up because usually smallish stores just crumple under what I can only assume to be unprecedented load. Any server will stop responding if there are more connections than the internet pipe and database can physically dole out - but I think this has gone very well so far, and I thank you for allowing us all a shot.

I really wanted the Maxamet PM2, but the site didn't work well for the first 3 hours. Snagged the Para 3, I guess that's something. It's much better now, I can actually load pages.

I'm hoping they don't end up doing any middle of the night drops. Maybe now that the SFO is closed, we won't see any more drops until morning.

Screw that. I work nights and my job is very slow this time of year. Middle of the night drops are my best shot.

I kind of understand that if they randomly release additional items, the flippers and botters can't schedule their attacks and the website performs overall better. Also allows people who took time off work to just do other things and wait for tweets. On the other hand, having absolutely no direction when they'll do more drops is giving me some serious jealousy about "I missed this or that" because I can't watch twitter all day. Adding in the inability to combine orders for free shipping, it contributes to the bad feels.

End of the day I'll be happy with my purchases, and I should be thankful for what I got. If they add a shaman to the list, tho, I may have to see if I can swap someone a PM2 Maxamet for it.

They are pulling down some items while leaving others so what is currently shown is not all that has been sold. Based on my experience in person, we can expect a large number of Golden and Chinese made standards with a smattering of Taiwan and seki models. Beyond that I don't think there's any knowing what to expect.

Yeah, the not being able to combine knives for free shipping sucks. That’s why I passed on the K390 Endura. It’ll likely seriously limit how many knives I’ll buy, because I am not gonna be buying one knife at a time at $13 shipping a pop. I’m fine with that though, cause it’ll just save me money overall and that’ll make my wife happier.
*edit* I know I could get multiple knives on one order, but like it was mentioned, the periodic drops seem like it’ll result in there only being one or maybe two knives per “drop” that I’m interested in, and if I wait for the next drop for another knife I would have combined it with it’ll likely be OOS.

Yes, some way to "pay as you go" for your cart and then say "ok, I'm done" at the end and combine shipping would be nice. While I hope there isn't need to do this again next year because of a pandemic, I wouldn't mind seeing this become a regular alternative sale in the future (with some tweaks learned as we go) for those who can't travel to Golden or don't want to stand in line.
