For those who have been to previous factory second sales; do the fixed blade knives come with sheaths and if so do the sheaths have some sort of defect as well. I am looking into buying a bow river at this sale and it will be my first Spyderco knife. :)
I have it on good authority that this year all the fixed ones (including Bow River and excluding one neck model) will be sold sheathless.

It has always been hit or miss, not sure why it would change suddenly.

KP is right. I emailed the company to see if the fixed blades would with sheaths and they said that only the Ark series will come with sheaths. They also said that they are only going to sell good to better quality 2nds this year to ensure happy customers and only have a limited number of knives.

Does anyone know where I could buy a separate bow river sheath?

I say they provide a certain sign in code for us forum members, and we get the first crack at these knives :D :p

For me, I honestly can't think of any particular knife I'm seeking so if it's chaotic, it won't really bother me...though I know I could also suddenly spend hundreds of dollars out of the blue! Very interested in how it all pans out.
And the code should be by join date.
;) :D

No, by post count, and must have been active in past month PRIOR to this announcement. That should get me near enough to the front to grab the few that elude me... :D

By post count? Well bummer, I guess I should start posting more and reading less. I don't remember how many posts I had on the first incarnation of the forum. Is there a way to add those to my total? :D I think I'm okay by "join date".

How about everyone that has a Spyderco 20+ years old gets first dibs? G2 steel only.
Or limit the purchase total? Max you can spend on a purchase is $600.00, then there is a 30 minute delay before you can buy again.

I'm looking forward to the online Second's Sale. I have made the trip to the "Holy Land" once; my wife and I were on vacation in Denver. It was fun to buy a Spyderco at the Factory Store. :) I felt like I was receiving Excaliber from the Lady in the Lake. :)

Hey, All:

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic discussion of the 2020 Seconds Sale. We truly appreciate your interest. As many of you noted, bringing the sale completely online is a technological challenge. Before committing to specific dates, we wanted to make sure we had all our IT assets wired tight. We are confident we've done that, so we are now prepared to announce the dates.

The Online Factory Seconds Sale will start at 10 a.m. MT on Thursday, Dec. 3rd and end at 5 p.m. MT on Saturday, Dec. 5th. When the sale goes live, a link will be available from the Spyderco.com homepage.

Please follow our social media and the Spyderco forum for more announcements and updates.

Thank you for your patience.

Stay safe,

Mike

Will any purchases during the online seconds sale remove points from my OpFocus balance? I’m only looking to score 3-5 products if I’m able to.

Hi, Krussell78:
No, purchasing Seconds does not count towards the OpFocus limit. Your OpFocus discount isn't applicable to Seconds. We only count the items that receive the discount. I hope this helps.

Definitely looking forward to this. I think having it spread out over 3 business days will almost guarantee everyone who tries has a shot at a deal or two - it will likely be slammed to the point of not responding or generating errors, but after doing hundreds of anticipated online sales, I can tell you the best thing to do is be patient and keep trying (and keep up any official notification spot in case anything pertinent comes up), this will be interesting. Kristi, this stuff can be tough, but I appreciate you giving everyone online a shot and I trust you guys have done everything reasonable to ensure that things run as smoothly as possible.
