Somehow I just realized how light these are.....

Yes, I also couldn't almost believe it when I first read the specs in the Reveal... a lot lighter than even a Manix 2 LW plus quite a bit more cutting edge to work with.
This knife will rule my pockets in the warmer seasons.

i already thought the original pac salt was ridiculously lightweight. it's one of the things that was most impressive to me when i first got it. i generally don't care about the weight of a knife, but i do find it impressive that such a lightweight knife can offer such durability and blade length. what's not to love?

I don't really follow this steel much because I personally don't really have a need a for it, nor has it been offered in models I'm interested in. But isn't the edge retention kind of middle of the pack? If so, I'd say SE models is the way to go. Kind of like PE/SE with H1?

TkoK83Spy, LC200N in PE is basically a rust proof VG10 in my experience. Enough edge holding for my uses, but it won't be putting S110V to shame in terms of edge holding.

Ordered a PE tonight. I'll get SE down the road.

I already have a SE Pac2, and I've been enjoying PE knives more lately. Ever since I started going super coarse with my edges I've found I like the way they cut best, followed by SE, then finally polished PE. They have high aggression on slices like SE but have the benefits of PE, best of both worlds.

I'm still thinking VG10 or a little better and possibly a corrosion resistant 3V. Others are saying S30Vish and to infinity and beyond!!! :p

This is selling crazy nuts fast in plain edge...

Personally, I kind of like the idea of this one as a backpacking knife.

I've been going back and forth on the PE or SE decision, too. My first impulse was to get a SE one. I think the edge retention of LC200N is on par with BD1N - so fine, but nothing mind-blowing - but it's still better than H1 in plain edge. So if someone wants a plain edge salt knife, Imo LC200N is a better option, and it's ffg. But a ffg SE pac salt sounds pretty amazing, too. Tough call!

When I do get one, most likely sometime next year, it’ll be SE. I already have a knife in PE LC200N, my Caribbean.

I like LC200N a lot. I’d still like it even if it weren’t as corrosion-resistant as it is. Personally, I don’t need S110V-level edge-holding. My favorite steels tend to be middle-of-the-road in that regard.

I'm with you there, Jim. I really enjoy the VG10 in my Police lightweight and Perrin fixed blades.

Really ?! Well ... good luck cutting a thick jute or manila rope with a PE, super coarse or not, as fast as I do it with my SE Pac Salt. Not to mention other materials. I would say that a SE at peak sharpness is the best of both worlds, but ... to each his own.

P.S Don’t mind me...being a spyderedge fanatic I couldn’t help myself :)

This knife just screams for a black blade.

Might just pick up the black Pac Salt in the meantime.
