Hi guys,
Nice to meet you all. I just joined this forum not long ago. I recently bought a PM2 in S110V and notice this weird streak pattern along the blade as below. I went and check my Native 5 in S110V and found the same pattern. Is this common occurrence on S110V blades? What is it actually?

Re: Weird Streaks on PM2 S110V
Probably scratches picked up during the manufacturing process.
Or, it's possible you wiped the blades down with a rag that was contaminated with material that caused the scratches.

Hi Vyrald,
Welcome to our forum.
I would guess that the scratches occurred in grinding. S110V is a very high alloy steel.

I get marks like that from my ken onion work sharp when sharpening if I don't put tape on the blade. The blade runs against a guide surface which picks up tiny bits of discarded steel and abrasive which in turn creat tiny scratches parallel to the edge as you pull it through. Another good reason to freehand or use a guided system.
But, I will defer to Sal, as he knows a thing or two about this all.
