SPY27 Native 5 Lightweight

#1

Post by SG89 »

Who is excited for this model? I think it's supposed to drop soon. I like the color and am interested in the steel. Was going to order the teal s90v but I'd rather have a more middle of the road steel.

I am definitely curious to try SPY27. I think I might go for a Manix LW tho.

I'm curious what you guys think of how it sharpens and how it holds an edge.

I have the Para3 LW SPY-27 and I'm very happy with it.

Living on the other side of the globe, I hope it drops no later than October. Shipping packages during the Christmas season is a nightmare.

I also passed on the teal S90V Native as the Spy27 variant appeals to me more.

I really want one but I take solace in the fact that they should be regular production. The Shaman Z wear & Rex45 Chief sprint have my full focus now. Maybe I'll pick one up in the second round.

I really interested in the steel. The Para3 isn't for me. Not sure if the Native is either. I've never held one, so I can't say for sure. There are certainly plenty of reasons to give it a shot. I've got an email alert set up with a retailer. Basically, I'm undecided but tempted.

I thought I would love the Para3 and bought one. Shortly after I landed the St Nicks Native. It instantly became my favorite model. I decided that the Para3's shrunken dimensions didn't appeal to me like I thought it would based on the PM2, but that's just me. I'm sure I am in the minority

You are able to add to cart on the Spyderco Factory Outlet website. Price is a bit higher including shipping than online dealers are showing even with a discount. I think that is the norm though.

I like the steel a lot so far. It sharpens up like VG-10 but holds an edge closer to S30V. -Chad

Me too - just ordered one of these and a K390 dragonfly to hit the free shipping limit :) I’m excited to try this new steel. All of my Native 5s are in tool steel so it’ll be nice to have one I can carry in the summertime.

Nice! Luckily there is no free shipping to Hawaii so I’m not tempted to buy too many haha.

My last two for the year will be the Native SPY27 and the Z wear Shaman. I’d be lucky to get either.

The Native is a regular production item. Shouldn't be an issue getting one of those eventually
