Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
I don’t know how I’ve ignored this model for so long! That blade looks effective.
Anyone have/had one?

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I’ve got one and I love it! Lots of cutting with serrations on such a long flat edge.
Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
Lol, that was my exact thought! It's definitely his favorite Spydie.Wartstein wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:29 amChrisinHove wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 2:55 amI don’t know how I’ve ignored this model for so long! That blade looks effective.

Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
Yep :D By a large margin, it has seen the most pocket time this year. (Edited to add: actually, the SE Ladybug hawkbill Salt has been my most carried knife this year, it's always with me no matter what other knives I'm carrying.)
Wharncliffes and hawkbills are are super useful for everyday cutting tasks, IME. Some find the length of the Endura problematic in a wharncliffe shape, but I haven't found that to be case at all. This is a great model to try out a wharncliffe.

Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
I actually was REALLY close to getting one - just cause the Endura 4 is my favorite folder ever and SE in ffg what I´d want in almost any folder.
But since I prefer the "regular" blade shape over the wharnie, now it will be the upcoming Pac Salt 2 SE (in LC200N and ffg).
Basically just a linerless Endura 4 (except the larger opening hole/steeper thumb ramp and a bit less pointy tip)
But I am still thinking of replacing my VG10 PE Endura with the wharnie SE eventually. Just to have "more SE" in my life :)

That's a lot more attractive actually...yablanowitz wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:53 pmI picked one up at the last Seconds Sale and did a bit of grinding on it to make it more what I would call wharncliffe.

That slightly modified “tip” makes it more like the salt 2 wharncliffe I have. I like that lots!

I keep going back and forth between this, the Rockjumper, and the Pac Salt 2.

I hear you! If I lost all of my Spydies (  ), the three models you mentioned (each in SE!!) could very well be the start of my new collection...dj moonbat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:38 amI keep going back and forth between this, the Rockjumper, and the Pac Salt 2.

Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
This reminds me: the online catalog lacks (I think) a way to search for models available in SE. I would think that would be a really common question people would have.Wartstein wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 10:01 amI hear you! Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
I think I'll go with the Pac Salt 2 because the rust proof seems like a freebie. I don't need extreme corrosion resistance normally but I might on occasion and the knife doesn't seem to give much up. Which one are you leaning toward?dj moonbat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:38 amI keep going back and forth between this, the Rockjumper, and the Pac Salt 2.

I guess the Rockjumper. It’s legal to EDC here in LA, and I do really like wharncliffes.ABX2011 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 3:35 pmI think I'll go with the Pac Salt 2 because the rust proof seems like a freebie. But the Pac Salt 2 is ridiculously light, and essentially corrosion free. And the Endura wharncliffe may have the strongest draw of all: it’s in stock!
It’s just really hard, is what I guess I’m saying.

Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
In Colorado, the out-of-the-box Endura Wharncliffe is a bit too long for the legal blade length. However, when the Delica Wharnie came out, my back-pocket Delica--which had always been a saber-ground CombinationEdge--was quickly replaced with a SpyderEdge Delica Wharnie.
Love it...
Stay safe,
Mike

Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
Well, my SE Endura Wharncliffe is on order and my Pac Salt on it’s way to a new owner. I suspect it may also replace my Lil Matriarch for those specific reassurance duties as well. They’re all not legal edc here, anyway.
Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
I have the SE & PE Wharnie Delica's and they are both awesome, the SE get's 90% of the pocket time of the two. It's a beast of a cutter pound for pound / dollar for dollar. I think it and the SE Lil' Matriarch are my two most carried SE blades.
Re: Anyone got the SE Endura Wharncliffe?
It will never cease to amaze me as to the completely different set of dynamics you can attain from certain designs of knives by simply adding a set of TEETH. I could list off the top of my head probably 20 Spyderco models from the past 15 years that would have exploded in popularity had they been offered up in SE.
Wharncliffe, Sheepsfoot and razor type designs all seem to naturally excel in SE. I've not yet got to test drive one of these but I'm going to at some point.
