Don’t forget the Air!
Re: Newbie with question
I wear a suit almost daily, and of the knives in production that I carry are:
Urban, clipless in bottom of pocket
Roadie, in bottom of pocket
Sal was right in that with a suit lighter the better, so linerless would be best.
If I need a larger knife I’ll take the Kapara with a black wire clip added. The smooth carbon fiber is so easy on your pocket and the wire clip is not very noticeable.

Hi Behindyou,
Welcome to the forum!
I wear a suit almost every day and I use to carry an IKUCHI either in the inner left pocket of the blazer or, in those blazers which have one, in the special pocket for the pen. It has a 3.26" blade but only weights 2.4 oz. The slender shape of the handle, which completely contains the blade, and its deep-carry wire clip, makes it seem a pen at first sight when carried in the pocket of the blazer.
Before the IKUCHI existed, I used to carry a SE (serrated edge) VG-10 LadyBug with stainless steel handle and no clip (now discontinued) in the small inner lower pocket of the blazer that many use to carry a lighter.

behindyou wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:22 amI have recently joined the Spyderco fan club by receiving a Matriarch 2 as a gift. I then bought a Tenacious as a EDC. While I love the Matriarch form and function, I appreciate the heft of the Tenacious. My question is, on days when I have to wear a suit, which knife is recommended for pocket carry? I thought about the Dragonfly (if I can remove the clip), or Cat, Chicago, and Manbug. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you make a choice yet? :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Newbie with question
Thanks for all the input. It's between the Urban and the UKPN leaf shape blade.
Re: Newbie with question
In such a case I would blindly go for the UPKN. It is lighter (1.7 oz versus 2.0 oz) and has more blade (3" v. 2.61") but within what it seems to be socially accepted and (legal in many places) limits (3"). I have the S110V version and if one uses it for those everyday normal cuts, it will hold its sharp edge forever. I bought my UKPN more than 6 months ago, use it quite frequently during the weekends, and till now it never required a touch up with the sharpening gear.

I don't wear a suit often, **** I don't even wear long pants more than a few times a year but when I do the Urban seems to be what ends up with me...
