In my experience there is practically no disadvantage to a longer blade (other than perhaps legal restrictions and larger carry / closed package), but many advantages. So I´d go for the Endura.

That said: The thinner stock of the Delica is a point for that model imho.

But that´s what you said and probably know even better than I do anyway :o and I don´t have any of the "unconventional reasons" you asked for for the one or the other

The Delica is too short for me, I would not use it. I would be thinking Endura or Endela instead.
I understand that some people don't want to frighten the public, or they living in areas with restrictive laws. But if you have the ability to carry the bigger knife then why not?
Partly my objection to a smaller knife is that it has a smaller handle, it's hard to hold onto to do work, so if you can't hold onto it to do actual work with it then why do you need a small knife with super steel?

I am more a D4 guy, but then....i have never handled a E4. So my opinion really doesn't matter much. I know i love everything about the D4

The D4 will be easier to carry around your neck in one of those sheaths that automatically opens the knife.

I haven't seen one of those sheaths, and this is only the second time I've heard of them. Where can I find some info?

For me, if I have the thicker blade stock that the Endela uses, I'm going to get the extra length that the E4 offers.

How cool would it have been if they would have used the thinner delica blade stock?!

I carry the Delica loose in pocket most of the time, Endura clipped, so they have different roles. That's my excuse to why I'm getting both anyway :)
