I saw the 2nd plane hit the building while watching a live stream on my desktop computer at work in Silicon Valley, California.

It was not long after that - that NASDAQ crashed, Silicon Valley businesses imploded, and 1.2+ million people moved out of the Bay Area over the next 6 months. The biotech business unit I was at lasted for at least 9 more months, then shut down. My career tanked and everything that I worked a decade for came to an abrupt end.

The captured Al Queda members were lucky they were tortured by the CIA, because I would NOT have been so easy on them.

Was working at our local Urgent Care. We were busy as hell so we heard bits & pieces throughout the day. Watched it when I got home & was very angry. I was angry that friends I served with would be deploying. I was even angrier that since I was medically retired I wouldn't be able to go with them.

It's a day that changed my life and career forever. Dropped out of college at the end of the semester. Never forget, never forgive.

An American friend of mine that I knew while living in Taiwan, and who lives in New Jersey, told me he had originally been scheduled to be at the WTC on 9/11, but his business schedule changed a couple days prior, so he wasn’t there that day.
