Endela K390 in Blue

#1

Post by FCM415 »

I’m coming out of retirement to thank Sal, Eric, and the crew for making this knife. It’s about as perfect as an EDC is for me. Endela is a Goldilocks size, K390 I asked for in threads since 2014 and the Mule, and blue is always a fave.

Another straight spine Stretch in any config would be great too. LC200N :)

Current in rotation:
Native LWT LC200N RIT dyed BritishRG
PM2 CF M4
DFly HAP40
Pac Salt Full Serr
BM Anthem
BM Bugout

Didn´t they plan to release the K390 models also in SE? (Perhaps though Sal said they were just testing that steel with "teeth", not sure)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Nice to see you come out of retirement. I may not try the Endela, but I am super pleased to see the entire standard lineup flush with K390 and the Police LW to boot. Sal always listens to us squeaky wheels.

Quoting Sal from bladeforums August 24, 2020, "In my opinion, the P4 is the most functional and to be honest, I designed the P4 primarily for high performance EDC despite its large size. I carry one quite a bit, and I just approved of a serrated K390 version."

This will be the model I finally get my hands on some K390. I find the Delica a bit small, but the Endura sometimes a bit large. Seems like a fit!

I just pre-ordered the Endela as it also is a goldilocks size for me. But you speak truth regarding the Stretch. From a newbie I thank you for coming out of retirement.

It would seem reasonable that given the fact that Sal has now given the thumbs up for SE K390 blades in the Police4 LW, we'll probably start seeing it in other of the Seki models in reveals to come -- but that's just my WAG... I sure do hope so though! ;) :D

I would love to test drive a K390 blade in SE. If it's anywhere near as good as XHP is I would go for it ASAP.

It's also kind of a shame that the upcoming C-60 Ayoob Sprint couldn't have been done in K390. I've been wanting to test one of the Endela models for a while and this will be the perfect one I'm sure.

This one was exciting to see for me as well. My carry knives for the past year have been a rotation of 2 Delicas and 2 Enduras 90% of the time. I've been really wanting to try an Endela and Police LW and had both sitting in my cart at St. Nick's along with the K390 Delica, but then DLT announced their coated Cruwear Delica for next week so I had to hold off on the St. Nick's order. Now with K390 versions of these coming out I am not sure if I should wait or just get the VG-10 versions now and the K390 later. It will likely come down to whether or not I have any free knife funds burning a hole in my pocket with no new exclusives or sprints imminent.

The Endura has already been trickling in to shops.

I do not know. It is up for pre-order. I was going to get the Delica first, but I think I will try this one and see how I like the size.

I haven't ordered the Delica yet. Too many other things sucking my wallet dry lately. I don't have an Endela. Maybe the Endela is a better option than getting another Delica
