Heads up - spyderco factory outlet has PM2's and para 3's in 52100 satin blades with carbon fiber scales.

They just came in a couple days ago. I would have bought one, but a half serrated edge isn't my cup of tea...

I picked up one of the PM2's the other day at the SFO. I hadn’t bought a CE model since my Delica 3, or Jess Horn LW. I’m really liking this PM2. It is sharp!

The date code on the box is from September of ‘17. The were “Exclusively Produced for H.L. Dalis, Inc. (Distributor).”

I regrettably sold my 52100 Manix during my last purge and now I can't even find one on the secondary market. Let me know if you see any of those at the SFO!!

I haven't checked the "usual suspects" but other stores that carried it in the past might have some too. Maybe the distributor found some extras in a warehouse somewhere?

With several other Manixes now in my collection, I rarely carry the 52100. But I refuse to sell it...it's just such a looker!

It's one of the most rewarding and fun steels to sharpen, I know it would be amazing in SE. I'm just not much of a Para 2 guy anymore and it's hard to justify the price to play around with an inch or so of serrations. If the Military was offered in CE I probably would have caved in that one even though I already have two 52100 Militaries.

Even the PE 52100 pm2/para3 models took a while to sell. They were expensive compared to other paras. I have the CE pm2, and I actually really like CE on that model. However, 52100 is the only steel that has ever given me trouble with corrosion, especially on that model in particular.

I wonder what the story is behind these?

Knives that had been kept back for a certain amount of time for warranty replacements, maybe?

Or credit returns from the distributor which didn’t sell after a couple of years of being in their inventory?

Is there any way of actually buying and viewing the stock at the SFO, other than going there in person?

It would be nice to have a seconds sale page with no factory warranty on the website, like Grohmann knives in Canada do.

I’m kicking myself I didn’t get any of the PE 52100 PM2s or Para 3s when they were available. At least l have the superb 52100 DLC Manix.

My 52100 CE PM2 was due to have the blade removed for maintenance, as the action was exhibiting a bit of drag. I cleaned and lapped and lightly lubricated the blade tang, pivot, washers and front of the metal liners, and it’s glassy smooth now.

I really love using this knife. It offers both raw, brute cutting power, and thin, razor edged finesse.
