Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that nicosurf is a friend of mine here in Costa Rica. He’s a spear fisherman and huge Spyderco enthusiast and enjoys the forum but doesn’t post because of his English (or lack thereof). It was at my encouragement that he submitted his fishhunter photo. Ultimately it was his responsibility to read and follow the rules but I feel pretty lame because I could have done a better job of explaining the requirements to him. Anyway, i wanted to apologize to everyone for my part in causing any problems. Especially to you Nico. :(

Congrats to przemekspce for the great cover shot, and to everyone else this year! Lots of great entries for the 2021 calendar.

I was so surprised to see the winners announced today, and of course feel honored to be included!

Thanks Spyderco for the fun contest and awesome prizes!

What a pleasant surprise to scan the winners list and find my name today. Holy smokes! First time I’ve ever been selected, and my image falls on my birthday month to boot! A nice gift all the way around. I think my submission post was my 1,000th post...so maybe I’ll get lucky again 6 years from now. Lol

Congrats to everyone, and esp the awesome cover shot win. Thx again Spyderco. :spyder: :spyder: :spyder:

Really nice shots for the calendar (most of'em). Kind of lame about nicosurf's shot though.

Another shame

Well, congrats to the winners and thanks for the opportunity...

I have undoubtedly put too much effort into this contest in the past.
Not only will there not be a Christmas themed shot (which I always thought was a crucial picture in a calendar), are there any snowflakes at all in this calendar?

Congratulations To Przemekspace and others...

BTW accordingly to rules posted in contest announcement:
"If you upload an image that is not in this thread, it will be disqualified."

Where is a photo of user nicosurf?
Or just I did not see it and any other post in contest submission threads....

His photo is simmilar mine...
I agree, Tap. I don’t see nicosurf’s post on the submission thread.
I just looked through the original thread for the 2021 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest! twice and I can't find that submission.

It's upsetting to see emphasis put on following the rules this year and then seeing someone win without following the rules.
I dont know if I'm the only one interested, but will the submission just be allowed anyways? Seems shifty to allow it after everyone else's submissions that followed the rules.

I'm certainly interested as well! I would hope it isn't allowed, rules are rules for a reason.

With the number of photos submitted that did follow the rules, it's almost insulting to choose a submission that didn't.

Did you see Surfingringo's (Lance's) post above? It explains some things.

I did see his post but, unfortunately, that doesn't change anything. The submission didn't follow the rules.

This is a very generous contest that Spyderco chooses to do for us on the forum but it's still a contest and I would expect more integrity from Spyderco.

You're not the only one. It's an unfortunate situation.
