I’ve used both DLC and TiCN-coated blades quite a bit and my experience is DLC is a far tougher coating. TiCN both scratches and “stains” a lot easier, where the coating gets “cloudy” looking. With DLC, you can usually clean that cloud off with some soap/water or cleaner, but I’ve had no luck like that with TiCN. My experience, yours may vary. Cheers, Radioactive
Have you ever used Flitz, or anything similar to it on the TiCN? That's normally my go-to when it comes to cleaning up DLC. Flitz and a bit of mineral oil and comes back to a clean, and shiny black. Hoping for the same with TiCN.

The only TiCN I've tried Flitz on was the SNK Delica. It worked just like it does on DLC. Looked like new again afterward. I'll do the same on the DLT OD Green one

maybe it's just me, but i like the look of worn dlc and ticn. i hate scratched up satin blades, but i like a beat up coated knife, as long as it isn't a cheap paint coating that chips off instead of wearing.

I'm really glad you guys are enjoying them, I am personally super pleased with these, Spyderco did an excellent job on this project. As weird as it might sound, the Delica is honestly an underrated knife, it disappears in your pocket and is absolute scalpel when cutting.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience, K-bar1999, please consider emailing me at jordan@dlttrading.com to see if we can help resolve the issue.

Glad you guys like the stickers, we feel these special knives deserve some extra goodies, and do a specific sticker for each run.

And this is why DLT has my vote for one of the best customer services among the Spyderco exclusives dealers out there. They really take their time to communicate to their customers.

Yup, Roger That. DLT is always my first choice because they ship directly from the Millenium Falcon in light speed. Seriously the fasting shipping of any any online retailer for anything I have ever seen. (Always choose the regular Fed Ex 2 day if your in a hurry. Not sure why but the Fed Ex 2 day “home delivery” costs more and takes FOREVER.) It’s so easy to communicate with DLT also. When you call, a Real Person answers the phone!!

Totally. I haven't seen many worn spydie dlc blades, it seems to hold up so well. But TiCN seems to wear off more quickly at friction points, but looks pretty rad as it does. Some people like patina - same kinda thing (although I personally like the well-worn look more than a patina).

If I didn't already have the earlier released Cruwear Delica, I would 100% get this one. Looks very nice!

I had one :D. I am sure I could darken it up with some oil, but this one was pretty well worn. I do have the Ti coated HAP40 delica, which is holding up well.

The "problem" with DLC, is that the only thing I've found that I could scratch it with is sharpening stones. TiCN is pretty tough, but definitely tends to wear more with use in my experience.

And count me among those that likes the looks of a well used coated blade.

I do like the worn in look...but curiosity always gets the best of me after use, I have to clean it up to see if there are any scratches. On all of these knives, the DLC came out flawless. Very interested in how the TiCN does when cutting the same materials as these, and then gets cleaned up.
