After all the time I spent on this forum ten years ago asking for more sub-3” knives, I can’t believe I’m looking at this gem and wondering whether it’ll be big enough. Spent too much time carrying a Millie this summer.

Size of the Rockjumper imho is perfect for its intendet use, but I sure hope for a Rockjumper XL or even Leaf Jumper XL (the latter would basically give us a backlock Caribbean) in the furure for general EDC!

Hi,

Thanx for all of the input. It's really appreciated. As I've said, this is a test piece. The "Handle forward" concept permits us to bring the edge to the handle. If the concept is well received, we'll make variations. We can add jimping on the spine in the future if that's what's wanted. We don't need a Boye Dent for safety, but we can add some type of indexing. Time will tell.

sal
I think this would actually be an ideal handle design for a Rock Hawk... think, Super Hawk without the choil (which I would much prefer).

I think some version of the handle forward concept should be on pretty much any lockback that doesn’t have a choil. Using that quarter inch of overall length for grippable plastic is just objectively better than using it for exposed tang.

I'm in favor of that just for the name alone! It's fun to say over, and over, and over, and ...

Newer to the knife world and have a random question. Will dealers get this knife before the Spyderco website?

They are usually one of the first to put stuff up for sale but not always The first.
