New Color Scales Scheduled for the next Sprint Run
New Color Scales Scheduled for the next Sprint Run
I would like to know if there are any new Sprint Runs in the schedule with a color G10, like the Native Blue BladeForum Model? I personally would like to see more of this type of product from Spyderco. Even the use of color with carbon fiber, anything but black!!! How do the rest of you guys feel?

Bring on the COLORS!!!!
Forest Green, Burgundy, Purple, Yellow, etc.
Both CF & G-10 would be great! (Oh yeah, don't forget Almite too.)
I think plain edge would sell the best but I'd personally like to have just a bit 'o spydie-edge at the base of the blade. Just 10-15% would do it.

I seem to recall sal saying something about FRN being the easiest to add color to. Although G-10 in forest green would look spiffy, it may only be FRN with colors.
Besides... Don't you think the Native or Military would look sweet with a forest or army green handle? It would blend in nicely with my normal clothes... combats, canadian regular issue. I go down to our 2nd hand army surplus about every 2-3 months. My last trip I got boots for $40.

I am sure that FRN would be easiest to add color to, but the G10 & Carbon Fiber is what most Collectors want! There has been plenty of talk of the Military with a G10 Camo or Army Green. That would be great, but to stir up the collectors, we need "MO COLOR"!!!

I for one, feel that more colored handles could do a lot to make the knives more appealing to non-knife-knuts, well that and a low price of course. To the so-called 'sheeple' the colour black alone seems to have a strong weapon connotation, at least that's my personal experience. Coloured handles could make a knife look more like a 'gadget' than a 'weapon' to non knife-knuts. Combine that with a moderate price and blade length and configuration, and perhaps a larger segment of the market could be persuaded to buy Spyderco! In other words, bring on the blue Delicas! ; )

KenN,
I think there is value in both. It is cool to have a defensive knife that looks like one. I have a Chinook and a Ayoob and will pick up a carbon fiber Civilian and a serrated Gunting when they come out. If Spyderco ever makes the UUK I will get one of those too. And that is definitely a wolf in wolf's clothing.
On the other hand there are some advantages to having a defensive knife that looks more like a utility knife. As much as I would like to ignore them, the opinions of coworkers, juries, police officers, bosses often do matter. Some people work in very restrictive workplaces. The Temperance Jr. might allow them to carry a defensive knife that they would ordinarily have to leave at home. Deception can be a tactical tool too. I will pick up at least one of the blade styles of the Temperance Jr. when they come out.
On the other hand I fully support the idea of a black Temperance Sr. Did Sal say anything about it?
