Yea, go for it man. I'm still sad I lost my Matriarch, and that was probably 5 years ago now. Practice drawing it with the wave, it inspires confidence for sure.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Large Spyder Thrower. $130 for 3 of them with a leather sheath and instructional book. Throwers from a folder company is pretty ridiculous. Bonus ridiculousness for sticking to the plan, not taking them out of the house, and having an acceptable spot to throw inside.

Yes, they are. I think I grabbed them through his eBay page a while back.

Awesome! He always makes the most awesome scales for Spydies. Too bad the waiting time for his scales these days are off the charts...almost 3 months!

May as well try out a curvey spyderedge!

Curios if the matriarch 2 would work in the garden or landscaping? I've nearly pulled the trigger a few times.
Yes sir Larry, it sure does! Works incredibly well.

i was just thinking earlier today that we never hear about the matriarch 2 on this forum. it needs more live around here.

the dodo is sweet too though.
I've done a few write ups on it after carrying it for a week at work. Can't remember which thread/threads off hand though. Definitely a great landscaping knife. That curve is wicked on pull back/draw cuts!

Going to have to try it until I can get a FFG Spyderhawk. If this turns out to be a good week I may have to treat myself again 😁

How 'bout one of these? It's a different kind of Spider, but it'll go great with everything else that everyone has suggested, just ask Sal. ;)

The matriarch with the ring. The ring was so poorly finished it sorta put me off the whole knife though tbh. I do totally get serrations and hawkbills now though.

All in all, a decent exercise in obscenity.
Lightly insane.
