Wich full serrated comp lock to buy??..

Post by Cowboyfromhell »

I'm on the fence between the PM2 or SHAMAN full serrated. What one to get...I'm leaning toward the shaman because I already have a PM2 in collection.

I have been considering these 2 as well but am no closer to making a decision. I want to try the Shaman's handle ergos as I have plenty of time logged using the PM2.

Caribbean for the win.

I'd go with the Shaman otherwise.

Caribbean or shaman. I owned a fully serrated pm2 for a bit (and a SE para3 lw) but didn't love the full serrations on that platform. I prefer it on the leaf shape blade of my Caribbean. As an aside, though, I love the combo edge on my 52100 pm2.

If YOU are on the fence between a PM2 or Shaman, dont worry about buying a Caribbean right now...

I would recommend the Shaman since you already have the PM2 in your collection. It offers a new platform and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how great the contoured scales feel in hand.

I am soooo disappointed that they didn't do a full SE Military when they were doing those 52100 runs or at least a combo edge in the Military.

Some of use are disappointed there isn’t a regular production one

Well yeah....and it's kinda unusual that now the Para 2/3, Native 5, and Shaman all have SE options but the Military doesn't...?

I just really wanted to try out 52100 in SE.

It sure seems like a perfect knife for a CE - plenty of useful edge for both. The 52100 run would definitely have been a good time to put one out. But the fact that you can still buy the 52100 CE pm2s (and maybe the para3s, too) tells me they weren't great sellers, even at 40% of MSRP. Maybe that sprint was a test run for CE on the military family.

I want either a CE or a 70/30, or 80/20 SE military.

I agree with both of y’all, Julia and David

It would be a very close toss up between the Caribbean and the PM2 in full SE. I've also wondered what the old GUNTING model would have been like in full SE>> the GUNTING had a comp lock that I really loved.

It may be small but the lil native comp lock SE packs a serious punch, FFG SE. I took the wire clip off of mine and it is a legit cutter.
