Everything else has gone wrong this year, assuming this will follow suit.

Next reveal will be all friction folders in 5Cr.

This has not been an ordinary year, so I can see Spyderco having difficulty figuring out which models if any to discontinue. Where sales down to lack of interest or due to outside factors?

Depending on the model, the sales would have been stagnant before the pandemic. For instance, some of the more expensive collaboration models.

This year I've bought the least amount of spydies since I first started 5 years ago. But that could change if we get a nice sale on discontinued models like in years past.

I'd be okay with skipping a discontinued list this year... 2020, right?

(Saying that will probably mean every model I want and don't have yet will end up on the discontinued list this year...)

Inventories might be lower than usual in general because of production constraints. If so, I would expect fewer discontinued models would be discounted.

You also have to consider that some models have been sitting in retailer warehouses even before the pandemic and not selling well. Or a collaboration model contract has ended and not been renewed.

With all the new stuff, some of the old stuff has to go. Otherwise log jam ... or expanded/increased capacity. Did I hear they are around 500 different knives (which includes all the variants)?????

Knives in stock of local dealers probably sold slower due to Corona, while I imagine that webshops had higher sales. Not sure if or how this influences overall sales of Spyderco. Nor do I understand why Corona would postpone the publishing of the discontinued list. Maybe there's less workforce in production and administration/management. I doubt we'll learn from officials here.

Forget about the discontinued list for 2020, let's talk about the price increase for 2021 :D

That's actually a good question. Is it an annual thing now? The original justification was that the price control was being used to combat Amazon and Ebay, understandably, but they've been in compliance for years now.

I have not seen any discussion on this particular reasoning for price increases (I always assumed it was due to inflation), is there any link to the original explanation /article? I'd like to see the rationale on how price increases help combat Amazon/eBay...
