Well done Larrin! Now if the book was available also in German... It's probably loaded with terms I'd have to figure out the translations for. Too much effort (I'm the king of lazyland), although I have no doubt it'd be worth it. I'm happy for the native speakers! :)

since we share the same mother tongue (and it is not English):

Are you sure that we´d really have THAT much more problems to figure out what certain technical terms mean than English native speakers?

Don´t want to sound cocky here at all and generally my (especially spoken) English is really not that good.
But: When it comes to knife related technical terms I learned most of them in English (and not in German) anyway, since the English speaking knife community on the internet is a lot larger and I read and watch most knife related stuff in English...

And when it comes to really special technical terms: I guess in many cases most English speaking people would have to look those up just like we would have to... ?

Kindle or an e-reader edition would be good to have as a resource on phone and tablet, but I’d still like to have a paper copy.

I just saw that our own Dr.Larrin has gotten around to releasing the book we have been bugging him to write. I ordered mine from Amazon earlier today. In case anybody is interested it is titled:

For me the English terms sounds more natural.
I am not used to the German ones.
I always struggle talking wirh my knife dealer about specific terms. He uses German, I remember mostly the English.

wärmebehandlung - heat treatment
schneidkantenstabilität - cutting edge stability
druckschnittverfahren - push cut procedure
(Roughly translated)

Technical terms are their only language...
