Triple B/Spyderco Folder

#1

Post by Baron Mind »

We need a sneak peak! Some kind of teaser! Blade steel? Lock type? Scale material? Overall length? Anything?!

As someone who came up in the hobby on Spyderco knives and BBB/Michael Christy YouTube videos, this is the single most exciting collab to date.

...I am excited :)

I think this is the consensus as the collab was announced in the 15v thread, but when asked if it would be 15v, Sal replied only that it would be made in the steel of his choice.

Yup. If there was ever a knife I'd buy sight unseen, this would be it.

I expect it to break the Spyderco record for HRC and BTE in whatever steel they choose. Bonus points for a distal tapered handle.

Honestly, I feel like some of these steels coming out are so insane and so overdone for 99% of the population. Yes, it's definitely cool to see what their capable of, but I bet NOBODY here really needs something this extreme for a Spyderco folder

People that cut apples and slice cardboard think they need the most extreme and exotic steel, suddenly 4V or even recently released 10V isn't enough..
15 :bug-red 's in 10 different steels
1 - Bradford Guardian 3 / Vanadis 4E Wharnie
1 - Monterey Bay Knives Slayback Flipper / ZDP 189
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31/Macassar Ebony Inlays
1 - CRK Large Inkosi Insingo/ Black Micarta Inlays
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31 Insingo/Magnacut

I totally agree! I like getting new steels just to have them but in reality VG10 gets the job done just fine :)

LOLZ. :p I would have to agree. :spyder:

I do enjoy continuing to learn about and getting better at sharpening. That's the most practical aspect of the forum for me.

On topic, am really curious about BBB's collab design.

I figured it would be SRS15, but I'm just guessing.

I must be out of the loop. I thought he was always wanting to see Spyderco use SRS15.
