Welcome David Mary! Was wondering when you were coming on over. Great design!

A backlock might be better for this design than the CBBL.

Is this not just an FFG Canis with a different lock?

Looks nearly identical.

Edit: Guess I wasn't the only one who thought so, haha.

I also think its too similar to the Canis, Yojumbo, and Yojimbo.

I realize there are a lot of differences. But at the end of the day, how many folding tactical wharncliffe designs do you need in one catalog. Im amazed Spyderco is doing as many wharncliffes as they are.

You had me at large and no choil though. I would love to see a similar design with a clip point or leaf shape blade. And Im always pro backlock too. The cbbl seems to have handle size constraints for a lot of users.

I was thinking it looked like a CBBL Canis, which would be an instant buy for me.

Hi David Mary,

Welcome to tour forum.

Regarding designs for Spyderco, best if you deal with us rather than deal publicly. Once design is in public domain, it's very difficult for us to work with it.

Hi Sal, thank you for the response. I had posted my pics here and another forum. I removed them from my thread at the other forum, and I tried to do so here as well but I seem to have deleted my entire first post! That's not what I meant to do...

Also thank you to everyone for responding. As far as being a CBBL Canis, there is a considerable size difference, and blade to handle angle. As for a full length edge with CBBL, I modded my Manix 2 XL to do just that, and the lock still worked perfectly.

Rather than try to retype my original post, I will await word back from my correspondence with Mr. Jhones from Spyderco. Thank you again.

Welcome! Everyone is welcome here!

P.s.
What's going on here? I am late?
I use translator most of the time.

There was a link to the old Spyderco catalogs.

The original post was removed to protect any patent or trademark claims that might be made later in the event of a collaboration.

Just imagine the Canis and the Autonomy had a baby, but with the lock of a Manix 2. Your imagination will get you close enough.

I think this is because the OP edited his very first post (removed the pics) and since he is a totally NEW member this edited post had to be approved before it could show up again?!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

I'm very pleased with this post.

I liked the design of PPT, but it only supported Tip-up.
I also liked the design of Yojimbo 2, but it didn't actually support Saber grip.

Currently, the perfect folder of specifications I want is Canis,
but I am interested in your suggested concept.
I look forward to seeing your design through Spyderco as things go well.

We need more diversity in Wharncliffe.

I'd buy your design. I'd also buy a CBBL Canis. I think I'd rather have your angle, though. In terms of size, I'd buy it in either a 3" or 4" blade (Manix or Manix XL size, basically).

More CBBL is always better!
