this has been a rough year, no doubt. instead of focusing on all the negative around us, i like how this forum tends to stay pretty positive. i thought it would be nice to compile some positive stories in a thread.

i’ll start...

my name is ladybug93 because my first pocket knife was a spyderco ladybug back in the early ‘90s when i was a kid. i’ve mentioned it on this forum a number of times and mentioned that i hadn’t seen the knife for years and figured it was long gone.

well, today i found it while going through my garage! it’s going to need some cleaning up, but i’m seriously super stoked to have it again.

and here is the one that started it all with the one that brought me back.

i thought i’d share a happy story with you all. please feel free to share yours on this thread as well.

That is a great story Ladybug93. It is always a great experience when you find something that you thought was long gone. Congrats on your fun find and thank you for sharing the tale. We certainly need positive stories.

Very cool that you found it. Is that a combo edge I see? :spyder:

My first Spyderco, a dragonfly, went missing a long long time ago and it has never been seen since. I'm good with it because it wasn't my favorite; too small. It did get me into Spyderco and onto a model I liked more, Delica ... so I must be forever grateful to this lost dragonfly.

Now many years later I am 100% sold on Spyderco folders - 17 knives this year, 14 Spydercos (12 of them folders) and 3 fixed blades from other companies. A small package incoming on a semi regular basis and being surrounded by many knives helps me keep positive among the daily poop I deal with.

Glad you are re-united with an old friend, :spyder:

Yep, us sailors used to greet our Marine brethren with that every reveille!

That's awesome. I'd love to have my find my first one, it's somewhere in the house...or the car...or the garage. If I had to leave the knife collecting world a ladybug and a pac salt would be a great pair though!
