Thanks mate... and yes, being kinder to each other is always a worthwhile path to take in life. :)Superfool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:24 amBetter today. Some days are just tough. The whole CoViD-19 thing has been such a weird ride, but it's made so much weirder by no-one really knowing what to do. In 15 years time we will have sieved and collated all the data, and be able to reflect on our personal, national and global decisions. For now though, we are just walking through the fog, trying to see where we are going, and not get a branch in the eye.Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:02 pmNice one mate. :)
Hang in there, you’re doing good work, both here and at your job. Sorry to hear you’ve been having some dramas.
I see why people are going crazy right now, but if nothing else is learned from all this, its that we should all be kinder to each other.
Yeah, while I want to be democratic as possible, we can't vote on every single decision to be made here. And even when we broke voting down further, how do you weigh up whether to weight polling? Whether to repoll if it's close? How close? Should we do a seperate poll on parameters.Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:02 pmI know from experience that running democratic discussions and votes with large groups of people can be difficult and even seem tortuous at times, but the end result is worth it. The sense of ‘end line user’ participation in the final concept is a big and valuable part of what makes Spyderco different from many other manufacturers, I think.
It seems long, and I think knowing what I know now, I would do a long term plan for everyone to see, so we all knew the score. Also, I would recognise that you simply cannot please everyone, and some people can't be pleased.I really like it.Yes, it is a long way from some of the more toxic places I have been. While the Reddit knife forums are ok, a lot of those subreddits are really afwul.Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:02 pmYeah, this is a good part of the ‘net with great people to hang out with, chat to, and learn from. :cool:I really liked Vinland, but when you click on the link, the first 3 images are not very nice, when you look at the next page of knives, they look much better. I think it looks quite exciting, but in the end, as many first-choiced it as hated it, which was the point of doing poll weighting in the preliminaries.Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:02 pmThat was a strange, polarising outcome for Vinland, but I’m glad to see Bjorkman’s is doing well for the moment.
