Hello Everybody,

let me introduce myself.
My name is Markus, i'm 40 and from Austria (Schwarzenegger) not Australia.

My first knife was a Victorinox, which my Grandpa bought for me at the age of 9 or 10.
Many years i had a Leatherman fetish.
But I don't like it anymore.

Know i found Spyderco and i'm very happy.
But I am little confused by so many models ans steels .....

My Spyders:
Delica 2nd Gen. black semi serrated bought as NOS
Roadie in grey
Dragonfly 2 black VG10
UK Pen Knife in CTS-BD1N

Regards
Markus

Welcome, Austrian country fellow man! :) (Ich lebe in Salzburg..)

Nice little collection, but since we have such great knife laws here in Austria and you can really carry every folder you like: I´d get a bigger knife as my next Spydie if I were you... ;) (unless you only like smaller knives of course, which would be perfectly fine)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Welcome Markus! Hope that you will enjoy it here.

I had the chance to visit Austria about five years ago. Beautiful country and the people were wonderful.

Hi Markus, good to have you here. It’s always nice to get additional international perspectives. Also, I’ve always wanted to see the Krampus parade in Graz! Maybe I’ll make it to your lovely country one day.

Hey Marcus!

I am 1/4 Austrian....the other 3/4 is Irish, so I handle my dark beers quite well! :D I'd love to visit Austria one day!

The designs and different steels make Spyderco one of the most unique knife manufacturers in the world.

This is the place the find out about knife steels:

This is an excellent review of the current steels that are used:

Servas aus Wien.

Still no kangaroos in Austria.

If I were you I would have a look at other Dfly's.
Different steels, blade shapes (wharncliff), serrated edge.
As bigger knife the Tenacious lightweight would be a good option, too.
Personally I love the Para 3. The compression lock is fantastic.

A must is a sharpmaker with diamond rods.

Have fun here and start learning more about the spyder bug.

Welcome Markus!

Excellent collection you've started. Spyderco offers a lot of variety, making it easy to find the knife that's just right for you. Best not be intimidated; just go slowly, try out some different options, and eventually you'll find what you like best.

If you were looking for a recommendation, mine would be to try a larger knife, as Warstein mentioned. Most days I prefer a knife with a 3" blade, but 3.5" is quite nice some times. A Para Military 2 or a Stretch 2 if you want something lighter weight is a great addition to any collection.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Nice try Alex, but the guy in the pic clearly is from Switzerland, not Austria... ;)
