I’m on the other side of the planet, so I have to buy from dealers that will ship.
Where are you then?

A SFO exclusive with a discount code published here on the Forum has worked before.

I have learned not to get too excited about knives that might not even make it here...

Nothikng yet.

This will be a long time project. Making prototypes until right. Procuring steel. Finding a slot in the queue for production, etc.

Rough idea? 1 year? 5 years?
Any idea at all?

if past experience is any indicator, it'll be done when it can fully meet and exceed our expectations :)

What kind of grind would folks like to see on this blade? A hollow grind might show off the depth of the damasteel layers in a more interesting way than a full flat grind. I've not owned a damascus blade before, but the pictures I've seen of damascus blades with a higher degree of contouring than FFG look more appealing to my eye. Looking forward to making this my first UKPK

I think polished or smooth ivory g10 would look nicer than a rougher texture. Something like the One-Eyed Jack? Also, let's add in a contoured handle like the Shaman and a full-lenght damasteel backspring. Just kidding! Unless...

I'll need 2 of these. Made in Golden I know they'll be fairly priced, based on costs.

Bit late to the party on this, but you can see the results of the final poll links in this thread.

I have no idea whatsoever what the lead time for this knife will be, but I am guessing a year or so from Sal giving it the final nod.

I am super excited about this.

I did see that the damasteel pattern, blade shape, and g10 color had been selected. I didn't see if blade grind and g10 texture had been discussed. Will the blade be a full-flat grind?

I wasn't really serious about handle contouring and damasteel backspring, I'm sure that would not be feasible :)

We did not vote on the grind of the blade. We did discuss the handles, but due to keeping this knife within the normal realms of price, I feel that textures on handles were ruled out. Sal made it clear that the price easily skyrockets, and then its a $500 knife.

You weren't alone with the thought, but again, rejected early on.

There was a request for a Damasteel UK, and the queue is too full right now to do it. I'm going to try to get a Damasteel Urban for now.
Sal’s comment immediately reminded me of Superfool and this thread!
I’m glad to see an update. Personally, I like the idea of a damasteel Urban (presumably in the same configuration as the UKPK would have been?) just as much.
Really any of that family, including the upcoming Canadian Penknife, sound great in damasteel, but the Urban is probably the most “law friendly” of the bunch. It’s also smaller which may help keep costs down.
Who knows, maybe the whole family will get the damasteel treatment eventually!?! :p

So has this project been shelved indefinitely now, so to speak?
