Last news was that it has been indefinitely shelved to make way for an Urban in this spec, which I am quite gutted about.

He Superfool,
thank you for your answer.
I noticed the Urban thread, but didn't realize its instead of the UKPK.
I feel with you!

JHi Superfool,

Not shelved, just waiting for the opportunity. It's a complicated project and capacity is a big issue. I'm going to see if there is space for an Urban.

sal
@Superfool it could still happen according to Sal.

Bumping as it appears to be the month of the UKPK

Jut received my HH UKPK after nearly a 2-year wait., and a very kind chap on here is poised to send over one of each of the UKPK Salts.

Any chance of sneaking these through any time soon Sal?

I still really hope this project goes through eventually! A Damasteel UKPK would be such an amazing knife.

Hi Sal.

Are we moved any closer to a production date for the Damasteel UKPK yet?

Hi Superfool,

Not only a "troublemaker", but a "consistent troublemaker". (Though I must admit that consistency is really high on my values).

BTW, You do know that it's an Urban and not a UK? Right?

Last week I approved of the etching to go on the blade and tang. The blades have all been cut. So far so good. (one of these days, I need to share the so far so good story).

So is the urban taking the place of the ukpk? I thought you said the urban was going to be followed by the UKPK; on pause, but not canned.

I don't care if the blade is short like the HH Urban, but please tell us the tip has been dropped down to be shaped more like K390 version. :preying

Yeah, that is an issue for sure. I think I remember Sal saying something to the effect that they were going to fix the point problem.
I Pray Heaven to Bestow The Best of Blessing on THIS HOUSE, and on ALL that shall hereafter Inhabit it. May none but Honest and Wise Men ever rule under This Roof! (John Adams regarding the White House)

Live pure, speak true, right wrong, follow the King--
Else, wherefore born?" (Tennyson)

Hi Superfool,

Not canned, just paused. The US facility is running at full speed and it's not something we can squeeze in at this time. Maniago had some capacity for this somewhat unusual project. We've begun the ground breaking on the new expansion, but it will be a year to two to make a difference.

Hi Dad, Doc,

We've been working on that issue with plans to bring the Urban to 2.5 with the lower tip. I have a sample of all of the Urbans made on my desk and we're working on a fail-safe way to create uniformity. This project had begun long before the issue came up so at this time, Until I see a completed sample, I can't answer your question.

My guess is that it will be a beautiful piece and we hope you will be pleased with our effort to meet you request. Also, it's a Sprint.

I think I may need one of these.

Sal, which Damasteel Pattern did you go with, if I may inquire?

Thanks for the reply. I guess if it has the same shape as the HH Urban it'll look beautiful in my sock drawer :winking-tongue but I'm hoping it'll look beautiful when I use it ;)

Asking for Damasteel UKPK getting an Urban.

If the blades have all been cut how come they are working on lowering the tip for Urban and how come no one noticed the raised tip and rounded belly looked kinda goofy before releasing them into the wild...

Might wait for the Damasteel UKPK, bigger and better made in Golden.

LC200N UKPK was brilliant so it's worth the wait.

The way Spyderco operates now few more years don't really matter, I am still young and as the funny little guy in Shrek used to say Some of you May Die, But it's a Sacrifice I am Willing to Make :grimace

Might still be tempted by Damasteel Urban only if the pattern and handle combination looks really really good...
