This will probably make some people here cringe. All I wanted was the blade. Going to try to find a new home for the frame.

Yeah, just a lot less copper and a lot more FRN and you have a winner.

Looking at the pic: Something like this should work with FRN or FRCP instead of copper too I guess... (yes, I do think PM2 LW... ;) )
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

The weight of this one could be felt just in the shipping box! I have to say I really like the heft. A quick trip to the scales shows the copper Para 2 to weigh in about 100grams more than a Para 2 with G10 scales.

It will be cool to see this one patina

Based on various posts and youtube videos that I've seen, I have the impression that the copper handle is causing this PM2 to transcend the normal market demographic for the PM2, perhaps to a meaningful extent.

Now that the manufacturing pathfinder is complete, I assume that it wouldn't be difficult to reproduce this with a different metal, such as titanium.

With titanium, not only does it provide a relatively sure way to sell a bunch of knives, but also to grow market share, penetrating deeper into the titanium frame lock crowd.

This platform is also ripe for potential synergies with sprints/exclusives and also a possible future Spyderco Custom Shop.

Imagine a titanium version that's milled on the outside instead of the inside, and then filled with an insert of a different material, such as copper in a new BHQ exclusive, or brass, Pakkawood, Marble Carbon Fiber, G10 colors... or even using inserts of anodized titanium or aluminum for various dealer colors.

Id buy something like that.

What do you guys think?

Meanwhile I really like the look and feel of this Copper PM2. Its beautiful.

Other than giving us the opportunity to purchase this knife, what did BHQ do for you that's so special? I give all the credit to the knife makers in Golden. Thank you, Spyderco.

I had completed an order last week but something happened and I didn't get one, they got another batch today and I got a shipping notification!

I'm glad things worked out for you. The madness of purchasing an exclusive can be stressful.
