Introduction Wasty42
Hi Everyone,
my name is Wolfgang, I'm from Germany and a knife nut.
I try not to collect knives, but that's a fight I already lost. I'm a outdoors person, I love my wife and my cats, hiking and my motorcycle. I love cooking, eating and a good whisky (Islay preferred).
I came to Spyderco (folders in general) after changing my job, where cargo trousers are no longer a thing.
Especially I like the utilitarian character of Spyderco knives, no jewelry, just function and lot's of it.
Legally I can only carry a slipjoint, or a two handed opening locking knife - so as I love one handed opening the UKPK is my official go to daily knife. ( As well as a small fixed one )
I don't like large choils on fixed knives, (the cutting edge is too far away from the hand) but the ergos on the UKPK are spot on.
It's great and I don't need another knife, but you all know how it is...
So after handling the Meadowlark I thought - lets get a black FRN Delica 4. - I love it. It edc's so well, even if not legal, I carry it nonetheless. The only thing I changed was a deep carry clip, so it rides nearly unseen in my trouser pocket.
I don't care too much about steel, I can sharpen a knife and when it patinas, it gains character... If it's stainless it's fewer maintenance.
Looking forward to new iterations of the UKPK, other knives and good discussions.
:)

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to hang out, but I should warn you. Spydercos are seriously addicting.

Between knives, outdoors, hiking, motorcycles, and Islay whisky.... it sounds like we have quite a lot of interests in common. :D
