I think the holes are part of the character of the knife. But I can see how the clip situation would be annoying.Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 11:16 amI'm honestly thinking about deleting the clip altogether. If the detent on the next one is as strong as this one, I will.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 11:12 amLimits aftermarket clip options bc some clips "fall" into the hole

Nice! I'm very interested to see the end results. Spalted koa should be beautiful!foofie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 11:33 amJust a quick update.
I found a woodworker who is interested in making scales over on BF.
He is making me a set of Watu scales. He spent the time to import them into CAD as well. I think this means that the next set will be much easier to make - so if anyone is interested... I will add that he has been awesome to work with. Very knowledgeable and very accommodating.
And - I think it should be pretty easy to delete the holes and keep the scales solid throughout if that is your preference.

no thunder stolen - that fiddleback Koa is absolutely beautiful.RadioactiveSpyder wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 3:15 pmSo, I did indeed contact the maker Foofie referred us to above - Chris from Trifect Custom Shop -
I went with a nicely-figured fiddleback Koa as my wood of choice since I have several other custom Spydercos with that kind of wood scales. I’ll certainly take some more pics myself when they arrive to me and I install them, and hopefully Foofie can share a pic of his finished product (I certainly didn’t want to steal his thunder!). Cheers, Radioactive
I agree totally. The wooden scales accentuate the *apparent* simplicity of the handle design.
