SPY27 or LC200N FFG Spyderhawk Sprint?
Easily my most used knife in the summer is my SE Sprint Syderhawk and is one of my "can't do without" blades. I know, JD and others, would agree with me in that a SE hawkbill is the perfect yard/pruning knife and I'd love a 2nd with a different steel to play with.
I know that VG-10 is praised with Spyderco's serration pattern and I'd bet that Sal's new proprietary steel would be great in this hawkbilled beast of a knife. Maybe throw in some hybrid form of neon HV blue and SPY27 Cobalt blue FRN to make it easy to find if dropped in the yard. There is a "blueish" Glow-in-the-dark out there and I bet you fine folks could come up with some nice other high visibility FRN pattern.
So who's with me with on this? What ideas might you have? :D

I'm in! Pretty much any SE spyderhawk sprint would get me.

I think I'd rather see LC200N, on this particular knife.

Fixed the title! :D I'd be down for LC200N as well! Like the toxic green too...

One more requirement, it HAS to have the same handle as the old Pac Salt!legOFwhat? wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 12:17 pmFixed the title! :D I'd be down for LC200N as well! Like the toxic green too...
No E4 handle, I can't stand that one.

I never tried the E4 handle, but I do prefer the Volcano FRN pattern to the Bi-directional.Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 4:06 pmOne more requirement, it HAS to have the same handle as the old Pac Salt!legOFwhat? wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 12:17 pmFixed the title! :D I'd be down for LC200N as well! It's the shape of the handle that is the issue. The Meat man wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 4:18 pmI never tried the E4 handle, but I do prefer the Volcano FRN pattern to the Bi-directional.Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 4:06 pmOne more requirement, it HAS to have the same handle as the old Pac Salt!legOFwhat? wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 12:17 pmFixed the title! :D I'd be down for LC200N as well! The E4 doesn't fit my hand. My fingers ride the peaks.

Re: SPY27 or LC200N FFG Spyderhawk Sprint?
Amen!! and Hallelujah!!! This is truly something to get excited about. Heck YES!!! give me a FFG plain edge and FFG Spyderedge>> you can give me the plain edge in SPY-27 just to check out how good it would be in PE and LC200N in SE.
This is long overdue. I've still got the orange handled H-1 Spyderhawk that the gang gave me when I was racked up and incapacitated. But to have a new Spyderhawk in new blade steels is good news for the soul indeed.
I just don't see how the Great Spyder Factory could possibly say NO to this idea. To me it's a slam-dunk

Re: SPY27 FFG Spyderhawk Sprint?
OH yes indeed a nuclear color for sure. Even a black coated blade would be cool too. Even a nuclear Turquoise Blue in PE and a Toxic Green in SE. Who could possibly object to that :cool:legOFwhat? wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 12:17 pmFixed the title! :D I'd be down for LC200N as well! Like the toxic green too...
This is not just a good suggestion><> This absolutely MUST Happen!!! And let's don't quit making noise until it comes to fruition

I dont own a Pac Salt but I do prefer the endura 4 over the hawk handle but I you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed.
The middle and ring finger area of the E4 is much more comfortable to me.

I’m in for any of the above, that’s all!

I bought the last Sprint but I would buy another.

It looks to me the last Sprint hawk and the pac salt had the same handle?

Re: SPY27 or LC200N FFG Spyderhawk Sprint?
Well, since they're upgrading the pac salts to the newer handle, maybe there's a chance we'll see a spyderhawk 2 as well. I know a lot of people prefer the original shape, but I'd buy either.legOFwhat? wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 1:57 pmIt looks to me the last Sprint hawk and the pac salt had the same handle?
Edit: I missed your post above - obviously you'd prefer the original spyderhawk! Fingers crossed, then - I'd be perfectly happy with the original handle as well.

Just had mine out yesterday. If it came in FFG/LC I'd be in (honestly at this point I might buy almost any knife in that combo) but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Also, PSA for anyone interested

I'd be happy with either handle, but since the Sprints can't be repeated I'd take any high visibility color and new steel in ffg.JuPaul wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:01 pmWell, since they're upgrading the pac salts to the newer handle, maybe there's a chance we'll see a spyderhawk 2 as well. Re: SPY27 or LC200N FFG Spyderhawk Sprint?
After spending the past two days with my Spyderhawk trimming and prunning away at my landscaping catching up on my honeydoo list, I'm even more amazed at this vicious little monster! Most of the time just swatting at rogue twigs and branches and watching them helplessly fall to the ground. Few times through 1/4" diameter weeping cherry tree limbs!
Two hours of continuous slicing and often ripping through vegetation and the only maintenance was some rubbing alcohol on a cotton-ball to remove the gooey plant blood and the edge still glided through copy paper!
I'm really Jonesing for a chance to grab another in FFG and in any of the above steels!
