What's your Favorite Rex Sprint Run?

#1

Post by marshmallow »

I got bitten by the Rex Sprint bug and just got my first one with the Lil' Native Rex Sprint! Do any of you lube it up even if you don't plan on it getting wet, I'm guessing to avoid moisture rust?

I put a drop of Blue Lube on the pivot, and a very light coat of mineral oil on the blades of all my knives, especially non-stainless.

These rex45 sprint models have all been great, but the g10 manix is still my favorite!

I love the Lil Native, I just wish it was a bit longer.

I'd love a Chap-sized lil native. The Less Lil Native. Just in btw the native 5 and the lil native.

Yep. I like the Chap's size, but it's handle is a bit too thin for me.

That would be a good combo.

The Rex45 manix 2 g10 is my favorite and I believe it is the thinnest blade stock in that rex45 sprint line. Correct me if I'm wrong?

I've used my beloved Para3 from the first run more than any other knife I own, carried it pretty much exclusively as my EDC for well over a year... from the second run the Manix... although my favourite Rex45 overall is probably the TreeRex, I *REALLY* love the scales, which I did not expect at all when I first got it.

Cheers,

Lil Native hands down, easy favorite! It's the only one from the entire Rex45 series that I've felt compelled to own. I'll try to grab a Shaman too but won't be disappointed if I miss out.

DEFINITELY the G10 Manix. Tough steel for a tough knife...though I do like my PM2 as well. But Manix > PM2

The Military Model and the Manix2 are among my favored Spydies (I have no favorite anymore), and I have them in Rex45.

I’m perfectly happy to let my Rex45 take on a patina. In fact, my just-arrived 52100 Millie already has a patina from cutting up our rhubarb for my birthday pie.

The Para 3 LW. First Para 3 LW I owned, and I feel like it's all I've been carrying this summer while wearing shorts. I missed out on the Para 3, 2 and Manix G-10 versions, so can't comment on them. The ones I've gotten are the Para 3 LW, Native 5 LW and Native 5. Lil Native on the way. Hoping for the Shaman and Native Chief as well. I will probably not be able to pass up the Manix LW when it comes up either. With these sprints and me working from home (having multiple screens to work from), I actually feel like I have a chance to get these now.

My favorite Spyderco is the Manix 2 LW because it's the perfect size for my hands, and I like the lock. My favorite blade material right now is REX 45. So that puts the Manix 2 Heavy in REX 45 at the top of my list. Would I like the LW version even better? Probably...

The sprint rex45 shaman is just now starting to hit shops... the one that's already been released was a knifecenter.com exclusive that is long sold out, but they are easy to find on the secondary market for ~$300

I really wanted a G10 manix but unfortunately wasn’t able to score one. :(

I’m a pretty happy camper with the para 3 LW though. Today I cut up about 30 cardboard boxes and it just kept on slicing...

I have a lil native Rex 45 inbound and flytanium scales waiting for it. Should be a nice little knife. It’ll be my first lil native, I’ve never even handled one yet.

Manix 2 G-10, at least so far, is my favorite REX-45 knife. My favorite REX knife is still probably the Mako I have in REX-121, though.

More models are yet to come though, and then we'll see...

What's the hardness on that Mako?
