Black Pacific Salt 2 - Is that a Black Polymer or a DLC Lockback?

#1

Post by dreadpirate »

Just got a black Pacific Salt 2 C91SBK; serrated edge and is perfect for yard work. Mine is a satin finish but came with a black lockback; is it polymer or black DCL? I can't really tell.

Either way I am very happy with the knife.

Just curious more than anything.

I believe its dlc. The lock bar is metal for sure.

It's steel, but I thought the Seki knives used TiCn coating instead of DLC.

i'm pretty sure this is correct. it's not as durable as dlc in my experience, but it just makes the knife beg to be used more. all of my salt knives are beaters because i don't have to worry about them at all. and i love them for it.

edited to add a picture... you can see the wear you can expect from rubbing against the frn on the blade and the lock.
