Mine would be the meerkat with the reverse-s blade.
A sleeper in both senses.

The quirky lock and funny blade shape put people off, but holy guacamole; best ergos of a small knife, effortless one-handed operation, and blade angles that make aus-6 laugh at super steels.

Seriously, one of best performers. The meerkat had the most subtle reverse-s shape, which may just be ideal for edc.

If only it came in better materials and maybe a tad thinner(titanium) scales...

Centofante 3. Great thin blade. I've carried one for a while now. I think a nice upgrade on it would be to unpin it and add some embellishment somehow with scales or nicer steel

Southard, perhaps as an honorable mention since it did get some attention initially but faded away, Spyderco's first flipper and to this day I think the best flipping action of any that they've put out thanks to one of the strongest detents I've ever felt from Spyderco. Not the best slicer but I once made a thread comparing it to the Military for how much edge it packs into a compact size.
I agree the Southard's fanfare seemed to die as quickly as it appeard. Many factors including your edge length comparison were very appealing from the Southard, blade finish, grind, detent, blade steel, etc.

I might have to put the kopa/kiwi on the underrated list as well. It has been a long time since the production stopped and the collectors rarely let these pieces go on the secondary market so many of the newer afis aren't getting to enjoy and appreciate the elegance of their designs.

So many good proposals already. I'd still say: the Meerkat. Versatile, with a magical (un)locking mechanism, and available in more than one rare premium steel.

Temperance 2. It is beautiful, capable, and balanced. Also many of the Byrd line perform well and represent amazing bang for your buck.

The Ulize is an odd looking knife that I think a lot of people passed on based on looks, but they're actually amazing ergonomically and very strong performers.

Caribbean, just because it's the best knife available right now. There's a chance I might be biased on this one.
Those are some awesome knives.

No bias, the Caribbean is the best knife currently made by Spyderco.

The Ulize is a surprisingly excellent knife. It shouldn't be, but it is.
Caribbean...in SE or PE, leaf blade or sheepsfoot? Or are they all in that "best knife" category? It's been on my "someday" list for a while, but which one to get??
Julia, I recommend the SE leaf. Leaf because the point is so useful for initiating cuts, and fine detail work. Serrated because the performance is simply amazing. I don’t consider it underrated because many of us who carry one like to praise it lavishly.

Yes! The Watu gets no press, but it's one of the few knives I wouldn't let go. That thin 20CV blade is something else.

I had one for about 10 minutes, until my wife claimed it as her own and put it in her purse.

I haven't seen it since.

That's true, I forgot about his collection! The Kiwi had some real pretty handle options

I'm getting close to the point where I may declare the Straight Spine Stretch to be my favorite model behind my current favorite Endura. The handle ergos, choil, and pointy tip are really appreciated after carrying the Endura for months.

I definitely think it is underrated. It is very much like the insanely popular PM2, but much better in my opinion. But it doesn't get any of the love and the sprint was available for quite some time. Hopefully they will release the SSS in Cruwear alongside the SSSXL in Cruwear and use a cool new FRN color. Maybe then the Cruwear and new FRN color would help drive sales of these models and get others to experience just how great they are.
