interesting... i agree, but i think you get the most out of a short blade if it's se.

i find myself leaning toward se more and more. however, i don't know that i'd be able to choose on this one. i'd probably go with pe because i tend to carry a se pac salt iwb always.
Welcome to my predicament :D

I keep going back and forth and can’t decide between PE or SE. I’ve been wanting a DLC Lil native for a while and I just cannot decide between the 2... so I come to you good folks to persuade me one way or another.

Post up why you voted the way you did
From an aesthetics perspective, my favourite variant of the Li'l Native is the plain edge mid-backlock version. Just very clean lines that flow into each other. I'm not really into the whole "knives as pocket jewelry" or "gent's folder" thing, but the mid-backlock Li'l Native was the first Spyderco I bought primarily because I like how it looks.

I use my serrated DLC compression lock Li'l Native significantly more, though. I will occasionally carry a small SE blade as a back-up knife (a Li'l Native SE, a Dragonfly 2 SE, or a Dragonfly 2 Salt SE) when I carry a plain edge folder or fixed-blade as my primary knife (because I find SE blades to be very, very useful for cutting rope & cordage). So I voted for the SE option in the poll.

OT: I love when I learn new English words here ;) (like this one)

/ Ladybug93: That´s what I´d do if I carried two knives: My main, large blade would certainly be SE, the second one a small PE (most people seem to like this exactly vice versa)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

probably because a small blade will be more capable in se and a large blade in pe can be pushed into more edc/survival tasks like dealing with woodworking. not that you can't do those things with se, but it's better with pe. i'm just guessing... looking at my recent experiences, the types of things i might actually need to cut quickly, the fact that nothing that needs to be cut with a knife really needs to be cut super clean, and the fact that most steak knives have serrations, i'm not sure why we even use knives without them. furthermore, as everyone already knows, no one does serrations like spyderco, so every pocket knife meant for real use should just be a spyderco in spyderedge.

okay... that said... i think i'd go pe dlc for a lil native. for me, that knife would do quick light cutting chores and play the role of a fidget toy. it would be less intimidating than the yojimbo 2 or manix 2 lw i currently use in this role. the pac salt se (or caribbean sheepsfoot se if they ever finish cqi and are restocked at spyderco) would do any real heavy work. i also tend to carry a mora kansbol and vic rangergrip 79 in my bag at all times, so wouldn't need to push my spyderco edc into woodworking anyway.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

I have the plain edge backlock Lil Native and it was a stellar choice.

I have the SE comp lock. Really like the SE. I would buy SE in the back lock if I would purchase again.

I am pleased that almost 30 % voted for SE so far.. :)

Not particullary concerning the Lil Native, but as a sign that many seem to like SE, which could lead to more SE models generally seen in the long term...

Well, the result was neither! I found a BNIB lil native in 4v for $115 shipped.

Just thought I’d let y’all know the result.

Edit* I guess it was PE DLC

I prefer SS blades but I just couldn’t pass it up. I bought it before really thinking about it.
