Can someone post a link? I can't seem to find it on BHQ's website.

It's hard to predict the response to these. A lot of people have been vocal about them but historically the Manix 2 XL doesn't sell like the hot models, the PM2 and even the Military. My theory is that not enough people are in jurisdictions that allow carry of 4" blades. But it is a good price and the scammers are certainly hot on limited production spyderco models these days.

I had one of the CF/S90V versions some years ago, actually 2 of them. Then when I needed money for the next new toy those 2 proved to be hard to sell. So for the people wanting premium steels in the XL, they weren't putting their money where their mouths were.

It's 3.88" not 4" - should be pretty legal - but the > 3.5" isn't a popular edc size, that I agree with

I wish I had been able to find a decent price for my s90v XL. At $330 it’s still my most expensive knife. The only one I’ve paid near as much for was my s90v/cf Shaman.

The price on the satin m4 XL is well within what I’m willing to pay for an XL. I’d have been happy even @$250, though.
BRING ON THE MANIX XL SPRINTS AND EXCLUSIVES! And 10v or K390ify the Golden lineup, please.

Top 5 folders I’ve owned: Serrated Caribbean Leaf, Shaman, Manix XL, ZDP-189/CF Caly 3.5, Native LW.
Top 5 steels I’ve owned: LC200N, K390, CPM S90V, M390, CPM REX45.
Top 3 steels I want more of: M390 class, A11 class (including K390), CPM REX45.

I have the s90v XL, which I bought new. The XL is a great hard use knife. I'd love to see it in Rex 45 (or 4v, in my dreams) but I think I should put my money where my mouth is and grab one of these in M4. The price, especially on the satin version, is very competitive.

This will be my first jade green G10 from BHQ.
Hopefully they'll last longer than some.

All you guys talking about how Vivi would love this are forgetting his battery acid sweat.
Lol my thoughts exactly

BUT he was also a staunch believer in the rust preventive properties of DLC. It would have been interesting to see if his acid sweat could permeate the DLC and rust this super rust-prone steel.

Starting a dedicated thread on this one:
Get thee behind me, Julia!

I was feeling content because my existing carry knives meet all my needs. I have a carry knife for every occasion, and there's nothing available that I'm longing for. But your revelation blew that right out of the water.

The Manix 2 is my favorite platform, and my existing Brand X knives comparable in size to the XL are rather bulky. The XL in M4 really piques my curiosity. I'm going to bag one. The color, though, is unappealing. Maybe the intention is for the user to make it pretty.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Where is VIVI?!!

This is great! I do not like natural G10 much, but a new steel upgrade, finally! is just wonderful.

Now they just need to do the Manix Backlock (with an upgrade to coarser peel ply G10).

I'd rather see the back lock in a tough tool steel. 4v, Cruwear, 3v, Rex 45...any of those would be amazing.

The jade scales take Rit-Dye extremely well.

Hahaha. Its $1 mark up for the uncoated blade. And the black blade is cheaper than the s30v black blade standard xl.

Julia,

I am not on facebook or instagram (or whatever this is), so could you have a look and perhaps tell me: In what ways this Manix 2 XL is "improved" (technically)? It says "new AND improved" there...
Blade HQ answered me, they said it was supposed to just say "new". So it's the same Manix XL, just with their m4/jade treatment.

Thanks, Julia! Appreciate your help! :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Pass on the Jade scales! Wished I would have picked up the CF/S90V when they were available, can’t find em anywhere now.

I like how they point out this is a very limited run.

I can't get over the clip placement on the XL. I guess with deep carry it would be ok.
