Got mine too... took about 7 minutes and several refreshes, but it finally went through.

BladeHQ website was the slowest I have ever seen it. Fortunately, my order finally went through. Noted the change in policy: only one of each per customer instead of the usual 2!

I was tempted to buy both but I found restraint.

I didn't even see the change. I ordered the satin finish blade. Was hoping it would go through between my Afghan internet and bladehq going so slow.

I grabbed an uncoated one! Really looking forward to this knife! It's the biggest Spyderco I've ever bought :)

I really want to know how long this will take to sell out.
I'll be surprised if the satin is available in the next few minutes, followed by the DLC a few minutes later...

I lost that restraint :p . Got one of each. First time buying 2 of the same knife in the same steel, but I like m4 and want to support Manix XL sales.

I figured the DLC would go fast since this is M4 and it looks so good.

Yeah, the jade handles seem to match the black blade perfectly to my sense of aesthetics.

Yeah, I agree the DLC looks way better with those scales, although I'm not a big jade scale fan... DLC selling out before satin is not common, in fact, I've never seen that happen before, ever.

Back in the 70's, there were two ways we got concert tickets. We'd line up at the venue the night before with a thousand other fans, or if we couldn't do that, we'd have to order on the phone. At 10:00 a.m. exactly, you'd furiously dial your rotary phone, get a busy signal, hang up, and try again. If you were lucky, in the first ten minutes you'd get through. Someone would pick up the phone and you'd find that the only tickets left were in the nosebleed section. But you were happy to get the tickets. If you didn't get through in the first ten minutes, they'd probably be sold out. If you were flush, and you really liked the band, you could always opt for a broker and pay through the nose. But the sweat shops and salt mines back in those days didn't leave us with much discretionary income, so we'd just have to settle for listening to the bands on 8 Track.

That's how it felt this morning when I sat down at my desk and opened up a browser window for each knife, and hitting refresh periodically to make sure I was logged in. At 10 a.m., the server must have been glowing red as it slowed to a crawl. I finally got an "in stock," so I hit "add to cart" for each model. It was a couple tense minutes as the two web pages refreshed. They completed, two items were in my cart, and I happily checked out. The hunter got his limit. Life is good.

I had a satin one in the cart, but when I was checking out, the system was asking for my credit card info a second time. I bailed on the transaction as I wasn't feeling the need today.

Getting old.

27 minutes and the satin is still available! Does anyone know how many of each was available, I'd almost bet money they made more satin than DLC... I'm glad it's taking this long to sell out, at least more folks will be able to get one, even if they wanted DLC, at least they won't be empty handed...
