That'd be interesting. I could see a smaller version being a little less frightening, and maybe better for smaller hands, too.

To me it seems like that's sorta what the Canis is... I'm certainly going to pick one up.

i could maybe be talked into a slightly shorter blade in a full grip handle. maybe. like a cross between a lil native and a yojimbo.

in the meantime, a cold steel tuff lite might fill the void for you. i only recommend that here because this probably won’t happen and would likely take a long time if it did happen.

There is the "Chicagojimbo" or as I personally like to call it, the "Yojimboston." ;)

Michael Janich regrinds regular Yojimbos down to a 2.5" blade length for jurisdictions with blade restrictions such as Boston or Chicago.

Just bumping this thread because Mr Janich recently did an interview on The Knife Junkie podcast and he talked a little bit about a 2 1/2" Microjimbo that could possibly make it to production. Apparently it was in the prototype case at Blade Show. :bug-red-white

And if you're a Yojumbo or Michael Janich fan, it was an inciteful podcast. Maybe a little short though... https://theknifejunkie.com/michael-jani ... isode-248/

I would be interested in a minijimbo but not a Chicago yojimbo.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Just listened through the whole thing. I like the name "Microjimbo," and I expect I will like the knife itself too!

He did specifically mention the Chicagojimbo and was clear that the Microjimbo was a scaled down version of a Yojimbo as opposed to just having a shorter blade. I can't remember exactly, but he was talking about how the spydie hole and the distance it is to the pivot are the same, so the mechanics should feel the same just in a scaled down package. :respect

No problem... It was a pleasant surprise to hop in the car and have his name pop up in the episode title on my new releases screen! :gift

don't forget about the chicagojimbo.
https://5x5combatsolutions.com/shop/ols ... -yojimbo-2

another option for a similar knife is the cold steel tuff lite. it's honestly the closest thing i've seen to a mini yojimbo besides the chicagojimbo linked above. if nothing else, it's a cheap alternative until spyderco decides to produce a mini yojimbo.

They're all small wharncliffe's but that's about where the similarities end.

If you don't have time to listen to the whole podcast, they start speaking about the "Microjimbo" at around the 55:30 mark.

Michael Janich speaks about the "cockpit" (59:25) area of the "Microjimbo" remaining the same as the Yojimbo 2 so nothing gets too small to operate and still feels similar to operating a Yojimbo 2.

I heard this was apparently one of things shown at the USN gathering this year.

I think there are a number of upcoming knives we haven’t officially seen yet that I’m rather interested in.
