I Apologize

#1

Post by JD Spydo »

First off I want to thank all of you for all the great Spyderco knife talk and Off Topic talk we've had over the years.

However recently it's been called to my attention that I said something on one of the threads that rubbed some people the wrong way. Also I know we all have been stressed a great deal over what the entire USA nation ( and the globe) has been dealing with these past two months. But apparently I said something that rubbed some folks the wrong way in regards to certain recent events.

Well I just want to apologize for any misunderstandings and I most certainly didn't want to come across as being caustic or hostile by any means.

I certainly couldn't endure Spyderco withdrawal so I hope you all please forgive me for any misunderstandings :) . And I thank all of you sincerely. JD :spyder: O

I don't know what you said. And I don't care much either. You have always seemed to be a great guy to me, so ride it out, stick around and things will be good. That you would apologize for whatever you said gets you four gold stars from me.

I don't know what prompted this thread, but I do know that we all screw up from time to time, and it's how we deal with our mistakes that defines our characters. A sincere apology always earns my respect.

No I learned not to drink that stuff from my distance running/health food days. And I'm still a bit of a health food nut and try to be aware of brain killing food.

Actually it may not have been so much as what I said as the timing of it. But I thought "What The Heck">> just apologize and hope for the best.
And maybe there will be hope for the future. And Spyderville has a very bright future :)

And I thank those of you who have forgiven me. But let's all be aware and not lose sight of the fact that during these extra-stressful events we've been enduring the last two months have been extra hard for a lot of people. And we all need to keep that in mind.

As previously stated (paraphrasing), don't know what was said, hate that someone was offended, time to move on . The fact that you issued a public apology speaks volumes as to your character.
P.S. I really enjoy reading all your contributions to the forums! :D

Hi JD,

I've known you for a looonng time and I cannot imagine that you would ever intentionally say anything to offend anyone. I'm sure anyone that might have been offended will accept your humble apology.

Joe ole mate, I neither know nor care what you wrote.

I do know from our personal conversations that you are someone I happily call a friend.

First and foremost if your words had no malicious intent, and I’m certain they did not then no offence was committed.

Secondly, offence can not be given. It can only be taken.

To those who do choose to take offence, I say, take it quietly. Take it with a cup of dry Portland cement, wash it down with a big glass of vinegar and move on. Don’t burden the rest of us with your nonsense and insecurities. ;)

On a lighter note, you come up with any new conspiracy theories, Joe? Ah, hahaha, ah, hahaha, ah, hahahaha? :p :)

JD, you do exasperate me from time to time and I’ve occasionally let you know it. But that’s on me.

If you’re still here, as I think you should be, where’s the offense for which you’re apologizing?

Now, if you’re apologizing for YET ANOTHER thread on the Spyderedge, or hawkbills, or earlier Spyderco eras, that would be different. :p
