DragonFly II in K390

#1

Post by MacLaren »

Who else is getting one?
Ya know, I almost chose the Delica in K390 over the D'Fly.
But, already having a D'Fly in HAP40, I know what a little powerhouse she is.
Anyone else excited as I about the K390 DragonFly?

Definitely watching out for this one. I think I'll try swapping it into a G-10 frame in order to match my K390 PM 2 & Para 3 from BBS.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I've had a K390 mule ever since it came out.
I can attest, it's one if the best steels I've ever had.
Right at the top!

Within the next 90 days they should be released. However things could be delayed still due to the current virus situation so just keep your eyes peeled!

Most definitely!

Every year I’m impressed by how many compelling new models Spyderco manage to release.

Most of the ones that initially excite me (like the Swayback) get selected out of contention due to heavy right handed bias, but being Spyderco, there’s always some lefty friendly models for the steel nerds. :)

The Dragonfly is my most used Spyderco model, and one of Sal’s nigh on perfect designs, I reckon.

(Maybe the D-shaped pivot hole in the FRN lightweights could be reinforced, but that’s a fairly minor point.)

The K390 Dragonfly was one of my must-haves for 2020 from the moment it was announced.

I’m very excited to get hold of this one and put it to work.

I will most likely be buying 6 of these. So I’m glad it’s not a sprint. Haha.

Two for me, one for wifey, one for each child, one for father in law. It’ll probably end up being more than 6 honestly.

I’ll likely get one. I STILL haven’t tried k390 and I’m ready to give it a go. The Dragonfly is the only model in that run that I’m interested in but don’t already have so that will probably be a go for me.

I think you'll love both the knife and the steel Lance.
The DragonFly II, is just a little powerhouse imo.

Im in for one.

I go by loadedquestions or Lo_Que too on a lot of sites like youtube and IG. The forum here is about the only place I go by something else.
Guess I felt like changing it up when I made this account. Anyways great taste in names there :D

I plan to buy the whole line. Endura, Delica, and Dragonfly.

Out of the three the Dragonfly II is my favorite. Never had a knife that could fit in my coin pocket and still be comfortable running it through anything I'd put a shaman/manix/para2 or para3 against. I've never pulled my dragonfly out and thought "this might not handle it". The Manix 2 is my favorite knife. It was my first Spyderco. I think i own 9; in 7 different steels? Dollar for dollar though? I have to give it to the dragonfly.

The Dragonfly II cuts WAY above it's size. You want to tell me i can get one in K390? I already have the ZPD-189...

Spyderco Inc..... Sal.... Eric...... What are you doing?! I need to eat guys, I know I have a problem but you're not supposed to support it!
:spyder: I used to collect a lot of knives... I still do, but i used to too. :spyder:
