You can, it may cost you a few bucks. A repair is a repair, not a warranty issue so it would likely cost you regardless of the scales being factory or not.

How bad is the tip? Tip repair is nothing major, you can do it with bench grinder or belt grinder. If you have someone in your area that is skilled in metalworking, he can do it. Just cool the blade and don't ruin your temper.

I sent in a M4 Yo2 that I broke the tip by dropping it on tile. W&R did a fantastic job of repair and it came back with a better edge than when I originally received it. I only paid return shipping and no worries about adversely affecting the HT.

The tip is broken totally off.
Will a dremel work?
the Blade is 20cv.
Thanks.

Sure, it will work, but it will take a long time. Those sanding discs are pretty small and you will go thru a lot of them. Belt sander is a better tool, but Dremel will work.
Mark with sharpie the shape of your new point and then start removing metal slowly. Dip the blade in water like a madman - cool the blade, just to make sure that you dont ruin your heat treat.

Use a coarse stone or bastard file. Then reduce grit on progressive stones until you’re happy with it. Slow. Lots of water.
