Purdy knives...let’s see ‘em

Postby Doc Dan » Wed May 06, 2020 8:32 am

I like pretty knives. I have a few. My skills with an iPad camera are not good enough to capture the beauty of these, but here is a selection.

I have a bunch of "purdy" knives, but like SubMicron said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The One Eyed Jack is defintely a "purdy" knife though! :D

Image

I also think the Lil Nilakka has beautiful lines for such a simple little knife.

The scales on the Fluted Ti Native 5 are just stunning too!

This knife is mesmerizing. Not only is it beautiful but the intricate machining is impressive. It is a functional user as well as an art piece. It is fancy and could function as a gents knife while still maintaining that quintessential utilitarian quality that Spyderco is known for. It works well and looks good doing it. :)

Those are some beautiful knives you all have. I’m kicking myself for not buying some of those while they were available.

"Purdy".. new English word for me, had to look it up ;)

Always thought I would not care, but then came the sun and moon Chap. A knife I'll certainly get mainly cause it's purdy (and sure also functional, but for that I'd have my FRN Chap anyway already)
Top three going by pocket-time: Endura 4 in VG 10/Micarta-scales; Stretch 1 in VG 10; Endura 4 in HAP 40

"Purdy" is slang for the word "pretty" and from certain American dialect at that. :)

I really love the OEJ that my wife bought me for our anniversary. The workmanship is just awesome. Spyderco can make purdy knives with the best of them.

I also love my nishijin Dragonfly. Too bad is really cannot be photographed.

That Air is a gorgeous knife and now I wish I had gotten one. I love that silver twill. Beautiful.

The white Lil Nilakka is awfully nice too.

I am surprised we have not seen any Chaparrals and Kiwis. I am even more surprised we have not seen any Santa Fe Stoneworks Spydercos.
