Wharncliffe blade: Delica or Salt 2?

Which would you choose? I already have the DF2 Wharn, but looking for a bit larger while still staying lightweight. As far as other brands go, that Cold Steel Tuff Lite looks interesting for the price, but the steel is only AUS-8.

If you don't want serrations, I'd go with the Delica.

Edit: forgot that the Delica also comes serrated, so unless you need extreme corrosion resistance, I'd recommend the Delica in either case.

The tuff lite is great for the money.

I agree with the meat man. Serrations should be the deciding factor.

Besides the obvious difference in corrosion resistance, in my opinion the deciding factor is blade grind.
Do you want FFG or HG?

Thanks, I was thinking plain edge. I'm gonna give the Tuff Lite a try. Seems like a really solid knife for 30 bucks. I do like my Spydies, but I feel like a lot of them are a bit more $$ than they should be. Of course, Benchmade is even worse in that regard.

If you really want PE: HAP40 Delica.
If you still consider SE: VG10 Delica. Serrations in that thin ffg blade must be amazing, and imho VG10 is a great steel for SE.

I'd not go sabre / hollow in a wharnie blade.

I only have the Wharncliffe Salt 2 (serrated). It doesn’t seem to get much if any mention on the forum, but it’s a great knife (at least in SE). If you were looking at PE, I’d recommend the Wharncliffe Delica 4, even though I don’t own one. IMO, the Delica’s FFG combined with PE VG-10 would be better than the PE and hollow saber grind of the H1.

The Tuff Lite is harder to open, and the lanyard hole is at the wrong end, and the Delica is superior in every way. I have both, so not just saying.

The Delica will be a far better slicer. I wonder if I can put the Delica blade in a Salt handle?

Yes, You can. Blades are changeble, but with the backlock. Jazz did it and me too. Its my dream EDC. Delica Wharncliffe in Salt 2 thicker and lighter handle.
I would post some pics, if it wasn't such PITA

Mine now has a HAP40 blade in it, but this older pic is the VG10 in the Salt handle.

I have the Yo2. Sweet knife, but it's pretty beefy. I worry I might scare the sheeple if I ever used it in public.
