Golden blade

Post by fredswartz »

I have always liked Spydercos custom collaborations, especially the ones with the thick pivot washers (Zowada, Viel ,etc). There are only so many out there and I am trying to get at least one of each. My latest is a Khalsa which actually is my second one. The first had lock problems and I guess that Spyderco trashed it and gave me an equivalent instead. This one has apparently been in the box for 6 years and the blade has turned golden, almost like it is anodized. I placed an oval piece of transparent tape over the Khalsa logo and polished the rest of the blade with Met-all which is actually a jewelers rouge. Turned out great and the logo now seems to be highlighted although you can't really tell from the low class image.

I see what you meen. What makes it get "golden" a very thin layer of oxidization?

Interesting... looks almost like a "cokerized" blade.
