Not into Emerson openers myself, but aside from that it's just a more hard use version (sabre grind!) of the PM2, especially with a more robust tip (I guess) for those who want or need that...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

Interesting, I like the saber grind on there too, wonder if that would add some strength to the tip that some worry about on the pm2.

I think this is pretty nice, and it looks great closed. If it were anything other than black G10 and S30V I might bite.

Everything I am not looking for in a PM2! Aesthetically challenging Emerson thing and black G10. Strange choices.

Very weird. I can see this one sitting around awhile, besides those that are hardcore PM2 collectors.

Maybe with a hollow grind I'd be more interested. Can't see this being very popular.
So Spyderco is releasing new models as exclusives now? The BHQ MP2 tanto too...

This looks awesome! Have the emerson Delica. But I like the idea of more edge and a compression lock using the PM2 platform. A+++

I like my PM 2, but it is still not my most favorite platform.
If it was though, I might be happy to get two choices for occasional real "hard use" scenarios. The one thing I am always worried about somewhat with my standard PM2 is the tip (don't know if rightfully so, I am bit carefull with it and never snapped it). This would probably not be the case with either of these two exclusives

... and Spyderco certainly thinks things through: THIS particular version of the PM2 comes actually tip UP from the factory... ;)

Good catch, I did not notice it at first.

This model is kinda niche.... interesting for some people, but not for me....

That has been done before. The wolfspyder comes to mind, also the Kahr arms delicas.

I think it's great... Spyderco doesn't have to worry about getting burned by failed sprints/flash batches that sit unsold for years. The exclusives are already paid for up front by the dealer/distributors and so it's low risk for Spyderco. The dealers have more incentive to promote and hype up their exclusive. The only negative I see is that not everyone will be able to get one because of FOMO Mania causing the knife to sell out in 2 minutes but the dealer can just commission more knives in the future if they want. I think this particular knife will sell out within 1 day even if it is s30v and black g10.

With as smooth an action as the PM2 already has, this just seems unnecessary. I would end up stabbing myself in the thigh.
